School of Broadcasting and Communication Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

Not many colleges offer such courses and therefore one has to look for niche colleges. When I was checked I saw many Delhi colleges but I wanted to be in Mumbai as one of my friends went to Delhi School of Communication and even, he said, it was better off had I stayed in Mumbai. Mumbai is a hub for advertising business as well as many media houses. Yes, all the nationalised news channels have their head offices in Dehi but all of them do have their auxiliary offices in Mumbai. Anyways moving on to School of Broadcasting and Communication Mumbai, all the things that are compulsorily in journalism or advertising business is editing. SBC taught us all that and it became much simpler to find jobs once you have those skill sets. SBC’s infrastructure is well maintained and structured and has all the modern facilities to train students in broadcasting and printing in journalism. Modern day higher studies aspiring students look up to Media and Communication as one of the best courses to study. Our course had students of various streams and that made our classes even more interesting. When one chooses this course, they tend to carry that this course will make them famous. Yes, once you become a journalist that comes on TV, you will certainly be famous but for that to happen one has to spend at least 5-7 years on ground to understand how stories are sold. I chose as SBC Mumbai as there are many mass communication colleges in India but most of them are not approved by education bodies of India and therefore pick and choose the ones those are legit. SBC is one of those and mind you is also one of the best. I was always a person who like meeting new people, find interest in creative things like writing, and free to express my own ideas. SBC allowed all of that and therefore for me it was a dream come true college.Read Full Review

Firstly, SBC Mumbai doesn’t have the communication program as there are just specializations that they teach and they are PR & Broadcasting. The main things that we were taught here were how to do pre-selling of a movie or a song, how editing of an audio is done, and how to make a mountain from a mole is all that we were taught at SBC. Well, one should remember that admissions at SBC are not at all easy. The college has its own entrance but one advantage was that there were no centres and you can give the exams from your desk at home. After the online test, few are shortlisted and called for PI. Well again PI is not necessarily at the campus as they are ready to do it over a video call because just few basic questions were asked and the next day, if one gets selected they get the mail. All I know is 1000s of students apply for the course and the seats are 450. So, I don’t know whether it was just a random exercise or they actually meant it but one has to go through such processes.Read Full Review
