A lot of things go in advertising business and for that subjects like promotion planning, advertising theory, and brand communication were taught to us. Well, accountancy is also required and therefore extra classes for advertising accounting management were organized for us. In skill sets, we were taught how to get through consumer behaviors. Our course prepared us directly for managerial profiles. We had to work on case studies to understand the challenges in doing promotions and developing strategies. The latest topics were also included in out subject such as international advertising and media technology. So, academics here were something else because it was about the institute and not just the classrooms of the institute that we learned from. Going to editing labs, and print lab and doing creative things and then taking feedbacks of the experts is how our education was done at SBC.Read Full Review

My previous institute Sophia College taught me the subjects and SBC allowed me to have practical applications of all that as the college had so many labs to learn from. SBC helped in developing various skills that were required to build a career in journalism. Broadcasting techniques are so complicated that spending 6-7 hours in college were simply not enough. Luckily my parents gave me freedom and I used to spend as long as I wanted to be in the college. Since broadcast journalism enticed me the most, I chose that and we were taught how journalists do their researches and then report their respective news channels, web portals or radio. In terms of academics SBC is no bullshit zone. Here classes are taken only by the professionals who made us learn how to use the equipments which I never saw before. Also, we were allowed to borrow equipment and use all the world class facilities that the college has at any point in time. Also, there were too many subjects and students were free to take the classes they thought will benefit them. So, the compulsion of classes was not mandatory as one just has to focus on the things, they believe are the best. Journalism was my preferred stream and therefore even though I did my previous internship and studies related to content in journalism, I switched to be a part of real journalism and therefore we were sent on grounds and here we worked with the reporters of NDTV, and Zee News on ground zero as a part of our internship.Read Full Review
