School of Broadcasting and Communication Mumbai Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

A building full of well-equipped infrastructure or as good as a media or a publication house building had everything in its armory to ensure we learn all the technicalities of media technology be it print media or broadcasting. From video editing lab to shoot labs, we had them all. The auditorium of the school was great and to relax we had a relax room with long couches and ACs in it. Our classrooms were more mechanized than labs of average colleges because a lens was always on for students who don’t do their job properly. Thus, the infrastructure was modern with all the acumen that can help us learn journalism in the best possible way.

How media people live their life is exactly how I lived our lives. Yes, there was competition and every other person saw the next person as their competition. This enhanced us to better every day and that in a way kept us going. No biasedness as everyone had their chance to be the best because what we did off-campus made our campus life that easier. Every month, we had to do a presentation once on the best stories we worked on during the month. Has anyone been to theatres of London as our auditorium was just like that. I also have never been to London but have seen some drama of UK and the kind of theatre they show is how exactly our auditorium looked like. Library is a place where students go by choice but at SBC library there was book reviews or case studies presentation and therefore, we had to go there even if didn’t wanted to be. Now coming to the labs as they were the ones which were occupied the most, there was an editing lab, an audio video editing lab, and of course a computer lab among others. The canteen was small and I mostly went out for food as there were many good restaurants near the college.

Well, every week, we had to prepare a short film on the stories that we covered and was presented in front of the class. Journalism is about confidence and by doing so, it gave me a lot of confidence that I was ever ready to face the camera if I had to. We did workshops at some of the most exotic places in India like Goa, Himachal and Uttarakhand. The annual event or rather the fest UTSAV was organized twice in a year to ensure that students are also engaged with other things too.Read Full Review

The best part about SBC is that because we were always given projects so the building remained opened 24*7. Students just had to show their I-Card and can enter the building. Like for us, we have stayed whole night at the college library for documentation process. The ones who had their expertise in editions videos and sounds used the production labs that had sound recording, and video editing tools to prepare the videos. Well, one floor was dedicated for shooting as the editing labs was the biggest lab of the campus and that is where all the shoots took place. The auditorium was amazing as it wasn’t just huge but had all the latest facilities like top lightings, shooting cameras, and audio equipment to get any event conducted smoothly over there. Finally, there was a small lounge or a relax room for us to have some time off after spending a long day on ground zero.

Well, the campus life was amazing as we were taken on trips regularly because media people need break and we were taught all the attributes of that. From Goa to Pahalgam, we have been to all the places as a part of college trips. Among events, UTSAV was organized twice in a year as there were too many talented people out there at SBC.Read Full Review
