SRM Institute of Science and Technology (also known as SRM University) [SRMIST Trichy] established in 2007 is a Deemed to be University. SRMIST Trichy is approved by UGC and AICTE, and is accredited by NAAC-A++. Admission in SRM Institute of Science and Technology is offered in Engineering, Management and Science at UG/ PG/ Diploma level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology Tiruchirappalli which is formerly known by the name SRM University was established in the year 2007. It got the approval of the off campus centre in the year 2021 by UGC. The institute is approved by AICTE and UGC with a deemed-to-be university status, and is accredited by NAAC with “A++” grade.

Admissions to B.Tech courses are through a national level entrance exam (SRMJEE- UG) conducted by the institute. Candidates qualifying in the JEE Main / SAT exams are not required to attempt the entrance exam, they are directly considered for admission. Although for taking admission to other UG courses, the minimum eligibility criteria are considered.

SRMIST is awarding a number of scholarships like Founder’s Scholarship, SRM Merit Scholarship, Socio-Economic Scholarship, Differently-Abled Scholarship, Employee Ward Scholarship, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scholarship, Defense Scholarships, and more. The objective of these scholarships is to provide monetary help to the financially weak students and to encourage meritorious candidates. Although to be benefitted from these scholarships, students must satisfy the prerequisites and other conditions which are different for different scholarships. Moreover, the scholarship committee has the right to set additional criteria to optimise the number of eligible scholarship students and available funds.
