Madhusudan Law University

Madhusudan Law University was earlier known as Madhusudan Law College. The University was established as an university under the Odisha Universities Act, 1989 on 28th April 2021 which marks the birth anniversary of Madhusudan Das. The courses at the university are approved by the Bar Council of India and UGC.

The University offers admission to law programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. A notable fact about the university is that all government and private law colleges (except constituent law college’s of universities) in Odisha are affiliated to the Madhusudan Law University.

Vision: The MS Law University Cuttack is committed to contribute to the advancement of legal education in India by providing top-notch teaching, training, and research facilities to students. The aim of the university is to nurture students in a way that they become responsible citizens who can go on to serve the country as lawyers, judges, jurists, and more.

Application Process

The application process for admission to MS Law University Cuttack is conducted online. The steps to be followed for admission to various courses are as follows:

• Students can download and complete the online application form by visiting the official university website.
• An application fee is to be submitted along with the completed application and supporting documents.
• A copy of the payment receipt shall be retained by the applicant till the time of counselling/admission.
• The merit list for admission will be published on the university website. Therefore, candidates must keep tracking the official website for admission updates.

Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents along with the application form:

• 10th examination certificate and mark sheet
• 12th examination certificate and mark sheet
• +3 or equivalent examination certificate and mark sheet
• School/University leaving certificate from the last attended institution
• Migration certificate
• ST/SC certificate from the Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar; ST/SC applicants can submit father’s caste certificate or land passbook authenticated by Tahsildar
• Four passport-sized photographs with the candidate’s signature

• Copy of the higher secondary mark sheets-cum-provisional certificate.
  • Candidates who have not received the official mark sheet before the application deadline can submit downloaded mark sheet with the endorsement of the Principal from the previously attended institution.
  • Candidates appearing in the 12th class examination can attach their 10th certificate and submit their +2 certificate at the time of admission.
• School/University leaving certificate from the previously attended institution
• SC/ST certificates from the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar; father’s caste certificate or land passbook authenticated by Tahsildar are also acceptable in case of SC/ST applicants
• PwD/Ex-Service Man/Children of Martyrs certificate as applicable
• Migration certificate for applicants who have passed the board examination
• Four copies of passport-sized photographs with the candidate’s signature
