The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University was established in the year 1966. Initially, the colleges present in this area were affiliated to the Agra University. CSJMU which was earlier known as Kanpur University was established in 1949 to reduce the pressure on Agra University. It is recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE. It has also received the accreditation of NAAC. The university offers multiple graduate, post graduate, and diploma programs in schools of Legal Studies, Arts, Basic Sciences, Business Management, Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Hotel Management, Languages, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Teacher Education.
