The journey of Anurag University was started in 2002 as the Anurag Group of Institutions in Hyderabad. The Anurag Group of Institutions was then transformed into Anurag University in 2020 as a State Private University. The University is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad and approved by AICTE and UGC. The University is PCI, NBA, and NAAC accredited.

Scholarship programs are offered by Anurag University to the merit holder students on the basis of their academic performance in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the University. The Controller of Examinations will declare the results based on which the scholarships will be granted to the students who meet the requirements. Students can continue their scholarship for next year availed at the time of admission, if they are able to maintain a CGPA of around 8.0 or above and do not have any back at the end of the semester.
