Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) was established in the year 1979 by Late Shri R Dayananda Sagar who is known for his leading role in helping set up the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Education Trust (MGVP). He played an important role in the setting up the pillars of the education sector of emerging India. It is currently run by the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust which presently manages more than 25 colleges and has a couple of hospitals under its management too. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and has been approved by UGC and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). It also has been accredited by NAAC with an “A” grade.
DSCE vision is to impart quality education and focus on innovation and research which can help society while providing corporate India with quality human resources. DSCE Admission Procedure:
Admission to DSCE is through state and national level entrance exams and seats are offered based on merit. The admission is based on the performance of students in entrance exams like CET and COMEDK. The admission procedure starts in the month of April and concludes in the month of August. Students must fill these forms online, the date of which is announced well in advance.
The minimum requirement is that the student must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The students must have an aggregate of 45% in Physics and Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Computer Science / English / Biology / Electronics as optional subjects.
Admission can also be sought through Management Quota where a student must have an aggregate of 50% in 10+2 with 50% marks individually in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
A student must have a minimum of 85% attendance in each subject to be eligible for the end semester exams. Anyone with attendance of less than 85% will not be allowed to sit for the final examination.
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) has been ranked amongst the top colleges in Bangalore. It was awarded an all India rank of 71 for Engineering by India Today in 2018. It has been ranked in the 100-150 range by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in both 2017 and 2018. The college has been a part of all major rankings ever since its inception.
