The college facilitates counseling sessions as this plays a very important role in the life of the students as it enables them in choosing the career path wisely. Various workshops are organised for providing professional counseling to the students through industry experts. To motivate students, the college also organises guest lectures. Life skills programs are organised by the college for the overall development of the students. For the professional development of the students, the college organises group discussions, aptitude tests, etc. SMCTE has its own practising school which is used for teaching practice. Internships are provided to the students for obtaining practical knowledge in the teaching sector.

SMCTE building is designed aesthetically with excellent infrastructure and facilities. Classrooms are well designed and furnished with proper seating arrangement to impart effective learning. A multi-purpose hall of the college is used for conducting morning assembly, paper presentations, meetings, etc on a regular basis. • Library: In the SMCTE Shillong, the library is equipped with a wide collection of 6,000+ books, 10+ educational journals, 150+ encyclopaedias, periodicals, magazines, references, newspapers, and many other facilities. This place can accommodate around 60+ students at a time and provides digital library facility to access the e-resources.
• Computer Lab: The College has a computer lab which is equipped with updated systems and ICT facilities like audio-visual aids, internet facility, digital cameras, etc.
• Laboratories: To facilitate practical knowledge to the students, the college has laboratories such as science lab and psychological lab which has a seating capacity of around 20 students.
• Canteen: Canteen is available in the college which provides the eatables to the students at nominal rates. This place provides a comfortable seating facility so that the students can enjoy their meals.
• Sports: For the physical well being and holistic development of the students, SMCTE Shillong gives importance to the sports activities. Adequate sports facilities are provided to the students within the campus. 
• Auditorium: For organising various seminars, workshops, events, etc, the college auditorium is utilised which can accommodate around 200 students at a time. Proper audio-visual facilities are available in the auditorium.
• Additional Facilities: Teaching Aid Room, Edusat Room, Anti-Ragging Cell, and many other facilities.
