Majuli University of Culture is a state government university, founded in the year 2017. This university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It was started with a vision to provide higher education and learning in the fields of art and culture. Alongside, it emphasises the professional side of learning to bring social development and economic independence.
Several programs under UG, PG, Ph.D, Diploma, and Certificate levels are available in the following faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Performing, Visual and Applied Arts, and Language and Literature.
The university offers 2-years MA, 3-years Ph.D, and 1-year Diploma programs. Also, a certificate course in Missing Language is offered for duration of 6 months. *The university conducts an entrance exam MUCET and MUCRAT (Majuli University Culture Research Admission Test) for admission into the PG and Ph.D programs respectively.
Admission Process
To apply for the UG programs offered by the university, students have to register through the Common Admission Portal of the Samarth e-govt. Follow the steps for successful registration:
For admission into the PG programs, the first thing students must do is to register for the MUCET. After qualifying, the university will release a list of selected candidates. On a notified date, students have to visit the campus for counselling. In this process, documents are verified and admission is granted on paying the admission fees.
Given below is the list of documents (original & photocopies) students have to submit to the admission committee at the time of admission and counselling:
*If seats are found to be vacant after the first round of counselling, the university conducts another admission round. In this case, students must have a valid score card of the Post Graduate Entrance Test conducted by the Dibrugarh University or CUET or students who have not appeared for any state level entrance test, have to sit for an on-spot entrance exam.
