The University boasts of a collection of books technical and scientific journals and reference materials in a well-equipped library. The information center and library comprise of the audio-visual section, a reference section, circulation section, book bank, periodical section, and digital library. The library is fully automated so to provide a wide and effective range of academic resources such as DVDs, online databases, journals, and other important materials. There are services like inter-library loans and network resource sharing. Additionally, departmental libraries are also available.
Varsity comprises of a cluster of schools. There are five schools namely School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Science, School of Natural Sciences, School of Management and Entrepreneurship and School of Extended Education and Professional Development. These schools offer courses in varied disciplines. Admission to B.Tech, B.Sc, BA, and BMS is based on performance in 10+2 and entrance exam conducted by the University. These entrance exams are Academic Proficiency Test and Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test. A candidate who has a valid score (>120) in JEE Mains can directly apply for B.Tech.
For admission to M.Tech, the University conducts the written test. Candidates with valid GATE score (>75) are also eligible for pursuing M.Tech program. Outstanding performance in Bachelor’s degree followed by written tests is necessary for admission in M.Sc and MA courses. Admission in M.Des is based on the Design Aptitude Test followed by the presentation of the portfolio. Candidates who have qualified CEED are also eligible to apply. Admission in MFA is based on the presentation of the portfolio followed by an interview. Admission in MBA is on the basis of the Shiv Nadar University Management Aptitude Test or valid score in GMAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ NMAT followed by a personal interview. Admission in Ph.D is based on a written test followed by an interview. Score holders of CSIR/ JRF/ GATE/ UGC NET can also apply.
Shiv Nadar University follows strict attendance criteria. No students are allowed to have more than 15% shortfall of attendance. Shortfall beyond 25% attendance due to duty leave or medical is not accepted. Students who are unable to meet these attendance criteria will lead to F grade.
