GITAM School of Physiotherapy: Admission 2025, Fees, Scholarship, Visakhapatnam

GITAM School of Physiotherapy was started in 1980 in affiliation to GITAM Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam. It is recognised by IAP - The Indian Association of Physiotherapists.

Mission: Its mission is to encourage the students to indulge in research and innovation. The College aims to prepare competent Physiotherapy professionals nurtured with ethics to serve the society.

GITAM School of Physiotherapy offers Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT).

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must secure at least 60% marks / 6.0 CGPA (55% marks for CBSE and ICSE) in Intermediate / 12^th / other equivalent with PCB and English from a recognised Central / State Board.

Admission Process:

GITAM Deemed to be University conducts an entrance test called ‘GITAM Admission Test (GAT)’. Candidates willing to take admission in the BPT course must qualify the entrance test.

GITAM School of Physiotherapy offers various types of scholarships to the students so that they do not face any financial hurdles while completing their education. It has a Unified Student Scholarship Framework that provides scholarships to the deserving students on a first-come-first-serve basis.

• Merit-based Scholarship: Scholarship under this category is granted to the meritorious students. Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship.

• Need-based Scholarship: Scholarships of this category are provided under two-tiers:
  • Tier A (if the tuition fee is more than / equal to 2 LPA): Annual income of both parents / spouse should not be more than 12 LPA.
  • Tier B (if the tuition fee is less than 2 LPA): Annual income of both parents / spouse should not be more than 8 LPA.
• Sports Scholarship: Scholarship under this category is granted to those students who have excelled in sports. Students who are extraordinary in one of the following sports can apply for scholarship under this quota: basketball, badminton, cricket, football, kabaddi, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, targetball, chess, etc. Students have to submit a scholarship application that will be reviewed by the official authorities. They must further attend the selection trials followed by an Interview. 
• Loyalty Scholarships: Scholarships up to 15%, 25%, 40% and 80% are also provided to the children of GITAM employees. Other kinds of scholarships given are under the following conditions: alumni, children of an alumnus, siblings of the students, retired employee’s children, and spouse of GITAM employee.
