Jain University is one of the largest private universities of India. Currently, the chancellor of the university is Dr. Chenraj Roychand. The university came into existence in 2009, as previously it was known as Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Jain College. The university offers various UG/ PG/ diploma/ doctorate/ M.Phil. Courses. The university is huge as it is spread in over 300 acres of land. The university has ample space for students to give their wings some air and do any form of activities that they love. From world-class sporting facilities to best food joints, the students who come from different parts will never miss their home has been the idea behind building such an enormous infrastructure. The university is little far from the main Bengaluru city and the Airport, is over 40 kms while the Bangalore Railway station is 11 kms from the university. Jain University admissions are mostly entrance based. Like for its B.Tech course, the university has its own entrance and besides that AIEEE, COMED-K, and JEE Mains scores are also accepted. For applying to the entrance exam, you can fill the application form online. Students who are studying in class 12 can also apply. Once the results are out, counselling is done and if you are found eligible, then you need to submit your documents. If the documents pass the verification, you are admitted to the institute. However, you will have to pay the bond amount upfront to book your seats. For other courses, for which entrance is not required, one can fill Jain University application form through their official website. Jain University Admission involves some simple steps. After that, the students will be called for an interview which is mandatory. For UG courses, you need your class 12th mark sheet and for PG courses you need your UG mark sheet. Other documents include address proof, character and transfer certificates. Jain University scholarship has proved handy for the students. The various scholarships offered by the university are Medha for academics, Ekalavaya for sports, Natyaswara for music and dance, and Atharva for literary category. The scholarships offered on social or humanitarian grounds are Dyumna as it is for physically challenged students and Samasti is for students belonging to reserved categories. Not just Indian but even the foreign students of the university are offered scholarships. For scholarships there are certain criteria in place and students have to be in those criteria to have the scholarships. For example, for the sport scholarship, the candidate must have passing marks in the 12th examination and must be between 17-21 years of age. The meritorious scholarships are extended to the next year only if the continuation criteria are met. The scholarships are verified by Jain University scholarship committee (JUSC). The committee deserves the right to introduce new scholarships anytime as JUSC hold the right to approve every scholarship and decides the number of scholarships. Students are free to apply for the scholarships but it’s the committee that decides whether to approve or reject a scholarship after verifying the qualifying criteria. The seminar halls are used for conducting seminars and also the placements are done at the seminar hall of the campus. The students also access the seminar halls for various students’s and club activities. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. Both these hostels mess provide lip-smacking tasty food. The hostels also have laundry facilities and is provided at free of cost to the students. The hostel also provides recreational facilities for the students and has a lounge that has TV but is accessible for limited hours.
The outdoor sporting facilities are endless as there’s a basketball court, volley ball courts, badminton courts and tennis courts too. They have two large grounds for football and cricket while many other sports like Frisbee and lawn balls are also played by the students on those grounds. In short, the university is heaven if you are a sports enthusiast. The facilities don’t end here as there is a large swimming pool too and coaches have been hired so for those students who haven’t learned swimming in the early stages of their life can learn swimming here. There are various labs in the Jain University campus and some of them are electrical lab, energy lab, computer science lab, foundry and forging lab, mechanical lab, and aerospace engineering lab.
