Tezpur University was established in 1994 by an Act of Parliament to provide interdisciplinary courses and employment-oriented training to the students. Tezpur University is accredited by NAAC & NBA, and it is approved by UGC & AICTE.
The vision and mission of this university are to instill human values, leadership qualities, and a creative mind in students. It focuses on becoming the first choice of students when it comes to higher education and employment.
This is a central university and it offers UG, PG, PG Diploma, and Ph.D courses to the students along with Certification courses. All the offered programs are run under four schools, namely:
National & international students interested in pursuing their higher academic career at Tezpur University can apply here for admissions. The university follows some admission policies and for admissions, the candidate needs to fulfill it. Students willing to pursue M.Tech course will be divided into two sections, Non-GATE candidates and GATE candidates. Non-GATE candidates will be selected on the basis of Personal Interview, Academic Performance, and any Research Experience & Publication. GATE candidates will be given admission on the basis of marks obtained in the GATE examination.
MBA candidates need to graduate in any degree with a minimum of 50% marks. In addition to this, the candidate also needs to score valid marks in examinations like CAT / MAT / XAT / CMAT / ATMA / GMAT. Candidates going for M.Sc in MBBT need to score valid marks in GAT-B. Admissions in B.Tech will be based on marks obtained in the All India Rank of JEE (Main) which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students applying for any bachelor's or master's program will have to go through a Personal Interview and will also be judged on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 or Graduation. Candidates can also reserve their seats by scoring valid marks in the entrance examination conducted by the university, TUEE (Tezpur University Entrance Examination).
