Nalsar University of Law (also known as National Academy of Legal Studies & Research) [NLU], Hyderabad established in 1998 is a State University, currently having 3rd position in NIRF Ranking 2024. NLU Hyderabad is approved by UGC and BCI, and is accredited by NAAC-A++. Admission in Nalsar University of Law is offered in Management and Law at UG/ PG/ Doctorate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
The foundation stone of Nalsar University of Law was laid down in the year 1998 in Hyderabad. It is also known as National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University. It functions as a State University under the approval of the UGC. It is recognised by the BCI and accredited from NAAC with “A++” grade.
It aims to use law as a powerful tool to bring ethical and positive changes in society. Its key objective is to establish a symbiotic connection between research and teaching to operate academic programs smoothly.
Admissions in Law programs offered by Nalsar University of Law are considered through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). While, admissions in MBA programs are done through NALSAR Management Entrance Test (N-MET PG) and CAT. Candidates interested in getting admission in the IPM program have to clear CLAT (UG) / Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (IIM Indore / IIM Rohtak) / JEE / JIPMAT (IIM Jammu / IIM Bodh Gaya).

The Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) of NLU Hyderabad supervises activities of campus placements. The RCC is responsible to strengthen the relationships with existing recruiters as well as expand connections with new organisations. Its main aim is to fulfil different interests of students coming with varied specialisation and fields such as International Trade, IPR, Business Laws, and Corporate Laws. For MBA students, internship programs are organised with renowned organisations to enhance their corporate skills. Many well-known personalities visit the campus to guide them as per their experiences and knowledge.
Approximately 50 acres of land area has been used to build Nalsar University of Law which is situated around 20 Km away from Hyderabad. The university’s campus consists of state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as a Football Stadium, Moot Court Hall, Basketball Court, Video Conferencing Tools, Volleyball Court, etc. Various classrooms of the university have digital infrastructure to conduct hybrid and physical classes in an efficient manner. Its Library has a wide collection of Journals, Books, and e-Databases.
To provide accommodation facilities for students, the campus has Halls of Residence. The Halls of Residence have facilities like Badminton Court, Gym, Indoor Games, TV, etc. The campus also has a Health Centre that has a Dentist, Medical Officer, Lab Technician, and Resident Nurses to provide medical assistance for students.
