Rathinam Group of Institutions came into existence in 2001 when the arts and science college was set up. The college has its affiliation with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and approval from AICTE. It is also UGC recognized and re-accredited by NAAC with an amazing “A” grade. The technical campus of Rathinam came into existence in 2011. RGI is a NIRF-ranked college that believes in value-based education. For 6 years Rathinam College has been listed in the top 150 institutions in all of India by NIRF.
RGI has many departments including arts and sciences, technical, management, architecture, and physiotherapy. The college has many B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, and B.Voc courses at the undergrad level. M.Com, M.Sc and MA in different subjects are also offered at the masters’ level. Students can also go for a doctoral program in Commerce, CS, and Management. Diploma and certificate courses at the college are also very prominent. Cabin crew, Airport Management, Flight Operations, and Anaesthesia Technician are the few famous certificate/diploma courses at the RGI. The technical campus offers BE and ME courses in different streams. The college also has a Rathinam Institute of Management that deals with MBA courses. The Rathinam College of Physiotherapy was founded in 2021 and provides an excellent Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme. Management institution offers MBA courses in Agriculture, Disaster, Finance, Hotel management, and many more. At the architecture campus, students can do bachelors in architecture. The college also offers 4.5 years of BPT course in Physiotherapy. Students do the academic study for 4 years and for 6 months do the service training.
The college also conducts workshops for developing communication skills and character development. The college gives technical expertise, pre placement instructions and career related guidance to students. For architecture students, the graffiti art workshops are held. The institution has already launched a number of noteworthy social start-ups, including Cipher Labs and No Food Waste. The college has partnered with Dell, Oracle, and VMware IT academy.
Rathinam Group of Institutions accepts application forms online. The students have to register themselves with any active number and working mail address. After that, they can start filling in all the required details like personal ones and academic ones. Once after completing the registration students have to pay the form fees. After paying fees, applicants are asked to submit their documents. The students can also call the help desk of the college for any query. The final selection is done after assessing the docs and counselling. This is the same process that exists at all the institutions attached to RGI. The students can individually visit the institution to submit the application.
The eligibility criteria for UG programs say that students should have passed their HSC exam and for PG programs a graduate degree in relevant discipline is required.

Rathinam Group of Institutions has a full-time placement officer. He is employed by the placement and training cell, and they plan both on-campus and off-campus job fairs. The cell prepares students to reach their professional goals. In order to get the students industry ready, aptitude tests, numerical ability, and group discussions are held. Industry experts, professionals, and coordinators host placement training sessions. To assess the students' abilities and help them with job offers, the professionals also conduct mock interviews.
The top recruiters that have hired engineering students are HCL, Wipro, Hexaware, Info View, Mallow Tech, ZOHO, Radware, SYRMA, Infosys, and TCS. The management students got job offers from BOSCH, Axis Bank, Citibank, Amazon, Accenture, and more. For the improvement and development of the students, the college has partnered with a variety of institutions, including EMC, Jio, IEEE, AMPERE, and Computer Society of India.

Rathinam Tech zone is made up of over 14 businesses (IT Park and SEZ), supporting over 2500 workers. The institution also gives entrepreneurship training to the students. The college has partnered with Texas Instruments to provide IOT programming to students.

Hostel accommodation: Hostels are under the watchful eye of ISTHARA, a co-living operator. It offers all necessary resources, and facilities, and ensures that students have a safe and secure place to stay. They offer a mobile app through which students can voice complaints. They can also maintain their absences, and give feedback through the app. Biometric technology is also available to watch and restrict students' unauthorized movements.
Hostels with laundry facilities and round-the-clock security ensure a secure life. There are many security systems, including CCTV cameras, on campus. The hostel and mess can receive uninterrupted power thanks to a separate generator. Each hostel has a prayer room, TV room, gym, store, and recreation area with indoor games.
Library (a hub of knowledge): A central library helps students in learning about current events. It also updates them rather than focusing on academic knowledge. It has more than 15000 books, 50 journals, and 20 computers with high-speed internet access. The Journals are available with open access, and also in digital library.
Sports: The College has a brilliant sports facility available on campus. For cricket practice, a well-kept pitch and specialized nest are available. Within the campus, a cricket field with good fencing is available.
A unique and separate BB court is also available on the campus. A well established gym is available to keep everyone in shape. Equal weight is also given to football, shuttle, volleyball, and Kho-Kho. Along with these contemporary sports, students are also taught traditional martial arts like Kalarippayattu and Silambattam for self-defence.
Students also represented RGI in university games. More than 70+ students played various games at state level. There were also students who went for district tournaments and brought prizes for college.
Transport Facility: For students, there are also private and govt transport facilities available. The college provides cabs with GPS services. The college’s location is an ideal one so students can easily commute.
Cafeteria: RGI also offers a variety of Indian cuisines in the cafe, which have many food courts. Additionally, it offers students a better place with Wi-Fi to hang out during breaks. The food court is set up with good sanitation and hygiene.
ATMs: Within the campus, the College provides ATM services. Students and staff can access bank accounts for cash withdrawals by using the facility. There are two different ATMs offered by Axis and Union Bank of India.
Other facilities: There is also an on-site swimming pool for students. Auditorium with a huge seating capacity of 700+, the institution has the most cutting-edge audio-visual equipment. For live sessions and conferences, it has an air-conditioned and a projector. A seminar room with 200 seats and quality audio visual equipment is also there. The college also has a prayer hall where students can go and worship. The college also has high tech labs that give advanced experience.
