Vignan's Institute of Information Technology [VIIT], Visakhapatnam was established in the year 2002 as a Private (Autonomous) Educational Institution, currently having 201-300 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. Vignan's Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) was established in 2002 in Visakhapatnam. It is an autonomous institute. It provides UG (B.Tech) and PG (M.Tech, MCA, and MBA) courses to students. These courses are approved by AICTE as well as affiliated to JNTU-GV, Vizianagaram. Moreover, these courses are accredited by NBA. Apart from this, VIIT is accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade.
Vision: VIIT works with a vision to achieve national excellence as well as to be recognised as leader of technical education by developing competent and socially responsible technologically adept manpower for the future requirement by the industry as well as for nation’s development.
Mission: VIIT aims to promote ethical values and research and development. It also aims to introduce innovative techniques of learning and teaching and to provide service to the nation.
VIIT offers UG and PG courses to students in various specialisations like Digital Electronics and Communication, Machine Design, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, etc.
The UG and PG courses are run under different departments. These departments are Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Information Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Department of Advance Computer Science and Engineering, and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Students who are seeking admission can apply online as well as offline. For online applications, students need to register first and for offline applications students need to download registration form from website. To get admissions in VIIT, students need to fulfill the admission criteria that are set by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

VIIT awards Merit Scholarships and Means Scholarships to students in order to assist them financially. These scholarships are offered to meritorious students as well as to socially and economically backward students. Students who fulfill eligibility criteria can avail these scholarships.

VIIT has a Central Training and Placement Cell (CTPC). CTPC has been constituted to facilitate placement opportunities to students and to conduct campus recruitment programs for placements of students in various national and multinational companies. CTPC emphasises on overall personality development of students. For this it conducts communication development program, tests for technical and general aptitude development, interview skill development program, etc. Apart from this, it organises group discussion, motivational lectures by professionals, career counseling, guest lectures, etc.
CTPC has collaboration with various well known MNCs. Few of them are Amazon, Infosys, HCL, TCS, Accenture, Hexaware, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Axis Bank, etc.
VIIT, Visakhapatnam has an excellent infrastructure. It has a green campus with a peaceful atmosphere. In VIIT, there are various clubs and cells for students like Green Club, Idea Club, ED Cell, Research Cell, etc. VIIT also has an NSS Unit and Student Activity Council.
