Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College, Bangalore was established in the year 1985 as a Private Educational Institution. Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College Bangalore is accredited by NAAC-A, and is affiliated with Bengaluru City University, Bangalore. Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College offers admission in the field of Management, Humanities and Science at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Rev. BCWCC is situated in Bangalore, Karnataka. Bishop Cotton Girls’ School started the college in 1985 with the mission to educate girls to higher levels. The school is already functioning for more than 150 years. The college was established by CSI TA Karnataka Central Diocese.
The institute serves with various courses in different streams like Commerce, Science, and Arts. The institute offers various UG, PG, and Pre-university Courses to the students. BCECC even offers a few Short Term Certificate Courses to the students. Like Capital Market, Tally ERP9, Power Communication, SSPD, LEAP, and many more are offered at the institute. The mission of the institute is to form the character of the students in a positive way which would somewhere help in uplifting the society. The main motto of the institute is to uplift the Christian community but it is open to everyone who wants to study.

The placement cell of BCWCC was set up in 2004 and is known as The Placement & Career Forum. This department works tirelessly to get the best opportunities for the students. The cell even trains students for their placement training. The cell provides with personality development, aptitude, and communication skills programs. These are offered to the students to improve their skills. The cell even manages to bring in speakers from the industry for the students to gain practical knowledge from different fields.
The work of the cell is as follows:
Students from the institute are placed in different sectors. Some of the major sectors where the students are placed are Education, Marketing, Retail, Content Writing, IT & ITES, Healthcare, Hospitality, Tourism, Banking & Finance, Aviation, and a few more.
Some of the major recruiters who visited the institute for student placements and even some of the students are placed over there. BCWCC Bangalore campus has state-of-art facilities and laboratories for the students. Even sanitary pad vending machines are installed at the campus of the institute for the convenience of the students. Even a stationary shop is located inside the campus of the institute for serving to the needs of the students. The list of infrastructure and the facilities provided by the college are as follows:
Library: It has more than 18K books. The library has subscriptions to more than 40 periodicals and journals, and more than 10 magazines for the students. The library has all the books which are required by a student for their academic studies at the institute. The library even has a section where all the rare books are kept and they have access to it. And almost all the latest books from all the disciples are provided to the students and faculties of the institute at the library.
Lecture halls: The lecture rooms are AV enabled at the institute for better understanding of the students. The classrooms have a seating capacity of more than 100 students. The students are taught by the teachers with the aid of PPT, case studies, and screened films for better understanding.
Canteen: The canteen of the institute is the most visited place by the students. As they go there for refreshments as well as meals. The canteen serves various Indian cuisines for the students. The food prepared is healthy as well as tasty. All the hygienic practices are practiced at the canteen while preparing food for the students. The students who are residing at the hostels are served with the food which tastes just like a meal prepared at home.
Seminar halls: It can accommodate approximately 500 people at a time. It is installed with both audio and visual aids. It is common for all the departments and hence can be utilized by any of the departments at the institute. It is utilized for organizing guest lectures, as well as for organizing various cultural activities at the institute.
Hostel: There are double, triple, and four sharing rooms at the hostel for girls. The security of the girls is seen by the in-house wardens who see to their safety as well as needs. They are provided with recreational centers at the hostels. Physical exercise is really very important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In need of medical assistance, students are sent to the CSI hospital.
Sports: The institute encourages its students to participate in various sports activities. Being involved in sports activities keeps the students active and healthy. Facilities for sports like athletics, shuttle badminton, volleyball, basketball, taekwondo, throwball, and cricket are provided by the institute for the students. And other games for maintaining the mental health of the students is table tennis, carom, and chess are provided.
Parking facilities: Parking is an issue that everyone residing in Bangalore faces in their day to day life. Thus the institute offers parking facilities for the students as well as staff members inside the campus of the institute.
Medicinal garden: There is a botanical garden at the institute. It is used by the students studying botany at the institute. They learn practically by using the herbs from the garden practically. Various medicinal plants are planted at the institute like Coleus, Asparagus, Vinca, Lemon grass, Aloe Vera, Pepper, and many more.
Laboratories: There are various laboratories at the institute for the practical learning of the students. There is a separate computer lab at the institute for the students with the latest software installed. There is a language lab at the institute for the students to sharpen their skills in Learning, Listening, Reading, and Writing. There is a separate mathematics lab at the institute for the students to learn FOSS (Free & Open Source Software) tools.
