    Academics and Culture are primary.
    Academics are primary goal of the whole campus community here. They have this interesting analogy of academics as 1, and the rest activities as 0. It doesn't matter how many zeroes you got, without that 1 you are not getting, and value added. So, the 1, or academics is always first priority. This institute has a hectic curriculum but as time passes you will learn to adapt to it. Talking about my course in BS, Mathematics and Statistics, it includes mathematics for its major part, but also a computing and programming part too. For any maths lovers out there, this is what you need. You can consider it equivalent to CSE; given you have a good programming knowledge.Read Full Review

    Amazing placement records
    IIT Kanpur is known for its quality education by the immensely qualified and learned professors. Our undergraduate degree consists of a B.Tech and BS program each of which is of 4 years. There are also Masters and Ph.D programs offered. Being a tech institute it holds the reputation of having the best Engineering branches but additionally it also has great programs for Economics, Statistics, Humanities, MBA, Cognitive Sciences, etc. The teaching system followed here is very much student friendly and is carefully planned for the students to follow.Read Full Review

    IIT Kanpur Placement Office is managed by IITK students
    I am an undergraduate student here. The undergraduate program is of 4 years, B.Tech or BS. There are hardly any differences between B.Tech and BS. The degree for both lasts for 4 years, and it is a credit-based system. The credit of a course is basically the amount of hours you're supposed to dedicate to a course on a weekly basis. On average, you're supposed to complete around 400 (this number varies a little from department to department) credits in 4 years. This consists of Institute Compulsory (IC) courses, Departmental Courses, Open Electives, HSS, etc.Read Full Review
