IIT Roorkee Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

We have many buildings almost every department has their own building. The campus size is about 300 acre and it is spacious. We have two LHCs and both the classrooms contain AC and heaters so that students can feel comfortable. We have auditorium to celebrate or conduct many programs and we have a convocation hall where most of the large events takes place. Medical and transport services are good in Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

I am enjoying my campus life though it is tough in initial days but it seems that everything is good here. There are many clubs and we can learn many things through it and most of the people are friendly here. They try to help others and grow together. As you might have seen, IIT Roorkee has a main building known as the Thomson building which is occupied by the administration. There are 2 lecture halls Gargi and Abdul Kalam where most of the lectures take place for the period of 4 years. It also has different departments for each branch.

Campus life is something that you'll never forget because of uncountable memories with your friends’ & hostel roommates and fun times everything would be kissed after you graduate. Fests are one of the important parts in one's institute life. Here there are two main fests Cult fest known as ‘Thomso’ and Tech fest known as ‘Cognizance’. Every branch has its own department like Civil, Electrical, etc. Lectures are held at a common lecture hall. Practical classes are held at respective departments. Departments are open and accessible to everyone. There is one central library which has wide variety of books and journals. You can even sit and study in the library.

Campus Life is very vibrant. There are two fests ‘Thomso’ and ‘Cognizance’ that happen twice a year. There are almost all sports to play. There are various dance, singing and art related clubs. You don't need to be an expert to enjoy these club activities. These are generally open for everyone.Read Full Review
