IIT Kharagpur Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

There are 21 Halls of Residences (16 for boys, 5 for girls) in the campus. The Halls are provided with High speed LAN fir each student, Wi-Fi connection, 24 hour electricity, Water purifiers, Washing Machines, etc. Every day workers came in the hall and cleans bathrooms and corridors. Halls bathroom are well equipped with geyser, clean water, mirror and running tap. Every first year undergraduate student is given Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall of Residence, which is the biggest and modern state of the art hostel. It consists of 3 fans, 3 single-bed, 3 LAN port, 9 Switch boards, 3 cupboards and 1 balcony in each room for 3 students. There are total 23 hostels in IIT KGP . There are 18 hostels for boys and 5 hostels for girls. There are not any specific in & out timings for hostel.Read Full Review

Hostels are called ‘Halls of Residence’. The oldest hall is ‘Patel Hall of Residence’. Each Hall has striking ambience as they are surrounded with flowers & greenery and are equipped with water coolers, water filters, geysers, badminton court, basketball court, football & cricket ground, and table tennis. Dining areas are properly cleaned to maintain. Each hall has their canteens , a general store, a Nescafe coffee shop, and a juice shop. Each hall also has its individual festival.
