The central Library of IIT Kharagpur is one of the finest and largest technical libraries in Asia which is accessed by every students of IIT Kharagpur. IIT Kharagpur campus have Tata Sports complex, Mahatma Gandhi hockey ground, Jnan Ghosh Stadium for various sports and games like hockey, cricket, football, Athletics and have full modernized Aquatic center for sports like Swimming and water Polo. Technology Students Gymkhana acts as a center for numerous extra-curricular and co-curricular activities ranging from sports like badminton, Squash and socio-cultural events.

Life at IIT Kharagpur is excellent most of the times. The experience everyone had at IIT Kharagpur is wide range of people they meet. IIT Kharagpur has 3 fests Kshitij (Tech-fest), Shaurya (Sports fest) and Spring fest (Cultural-fest). The campus of IIT Kharagpur is spread over 2,100 acres. It is one of the largest IIT in India. There are different buildings for each academic department. The main building of IIT Kharagpur has an academic information section in it. 'Nalanda' is the name of the building where students have to go for their lectures and classes. There are also different labs in different departments. There is a Gymkhana, where different courts and sports facilities are present including the gymnasiums. There are computer lab test zones and auditoriums. So overall IIT Kharagpur has great infrastructure.

The campus life at IIT Kharagpur is amazing. There are many societies and clubs for different skills and purposes. The institute organises different activities and seminars to engage students in all these. The cultural fest of IIT Kharagpur Spring Fest is one of the largest and biggest fests of Asia. Different artists and performers came into the campus and performed there. There is also a technical fest called Kshitij. It gives opportunities about technical aspects and entrepreneurship. The campus in itself is a complete city. Spread over 2,100 acres, it accommodates all the facilities required in most fields. The central library is one of the biggest library facilities in India and e-book cells are present as well. Restaurants and cafes are present within the campus. Other entertainment sources like cinema are within the campus too. Sports are well assisted by proper equipment and trainers/coaches.

Overall, IIT Kharagpur offers a well-rounded and enriching campus life. It is an ideal for students who are academically driven but also want to explore extracurricular activities, build friendships, and grow personally. The large and picturesque campus, combined with a rigorous academic environment and numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth, makes it one of the most respected IITs in the country.
