Indian Institute of Management [IIM Ahmedabad] established in 1961 is a Autonomous University, currently having 1st position in NIRF Ranking 2024. IIM Ahmedabad is approved by UGC. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, shortly termed as “IIM Ahmedabad”, has been imparting quality education in the field of Management since 1961. The Institute was established as a Society on December 11, 1961, and is currently working as an autonomous university. IIM Ahmedabad has collaborated with many international universities and institutes. It is approved by UGC, accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and is the first Indian B-School to receive this accreditation.
IIMA provides PG, Diploma, M.Phil, and Research courses. The degrees / diplomas level courses provided by the institute include, MBA, Executive Education Program (EEP), MBA-FABM, MBA-PGPX, ePGP, FDP, AFP, ePGD-ABA, and Ph.D.
The selection of the candidates for Post Graduate Programs (MBA) at IIMA is a two step process. In the first step, students who have a valid CAT (for domestic applicants) score and GMAT (for overseas Indian applicants or foreign nationals) score are shortlisted for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection of the candidates is made on the basis of the performance in CAT, performance in AWT and PI, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, academics, work experience, etc. The selection processes are different for different courses, hence students should go through the official portal of the institute to know more about it.

IIMA students are awarded scholarships irrespective of the financial status of the candidates. Students can benefit from a number of scholarships awarded by IIMA, Government of India, IIMA Alumni, and Corporate. Some of the scholarships awarded to the students are IIMA Special Need Based Scholarships, Minority Welfare Scholarship, PGP 2001 - Peri Viswanath Scholarship, IIMA Exit Scholarships, Shri GC Mital Entrepreneurship Aid, Dainik Bhaskar Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Aditya Birla Group Scholarships, Reliance Capital Limited Endowment Scholarship, and more.
The Financial Aid and Award Committee may prescribe minimum grade points to be eligible for the award of scholarships. Furthermore, students can avail more than one scholarship on a condition there will be no objection from the sponsoring body.

The Placement Committee works dedicatedly to provide jobs to its students. IIMA students gain new skills and hands-on experience through summer internships. There are many clubs on campus which help students to strategise their career goals, identify their strengths and weaknesses, evaluate job offers, provide updates on job and internship postings, and more. The Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS) is an initiative started by the institute to collect recruitment information using the placement reports and rankings by different agencies, media, and B-Schools. This helps the data be easy to compare and reliable and thus avoid misinterpretation and wrong decisions.
The Placement Committee organises a Placement Pool every year to place its graduates in the leading companies. Firms from different sectors participated in the Placement Pool. IIM Ahmedabad campus is sprawled on 102 acres with wide green spaces and beautifully designed buildings. The management has given special attention to green living and installed Solar Power Plant, Rainwater Harvesting, Solid Waste Management, and Nursery. The academic blocks are located in the main and west campus and have smart classrooms, faculty offices, seminar rooms, and department offices. The administrative blocks are designed to provide a comfortable stay and efficient learning environment. Moreover, the International Management Development Centre (IMDC) serves as a venue for courses and conferences and accommodates guests and visitors in the guest house.
