SPIT Mumbai Fees Structure & Courses 2026

I have chosen Computer Engineering and the reason is that I have always had a keen interest in Tech since 8th grade, and being in lockdown for 2 years just pushed me further into the fields like Web Development. The eligibility criteria is having a very good score in your MHT-CET examinations or JEE Main. The number of seats for securing admission via JEE Main is quite low, and majority of admissions are done via MHT CET. I had a 99.83 percentile, and the lowest cut-off for open category was around 99.3 or 99.4 for the my branch. Admission process was quite simple; just bring the required documents on admission day with the demand draft from bank of the fees amount. We have exams every 2 months, so first we have our Mid Semester Exams in October, and then our End Semester Exams in December, We also have internal semester exams, but their timings are dependent on the structure of the course. Also, there is continuous evaluation in form of lab viva, code/experiment assessments and online document submissions throughout the semester. The quality of academics is a bit questionable in my opinion, but the process of learning how to handle and balance different things at the same time without having a breakdown is probably what prepares one for real-life challenges.

I'm pursuing B.Tech because I always wanted to be a part of the community of coders. Admission is a little tough, but the Institute and the course completely justifies it. In MHT-CET, you need 99.5 percentile or above to make sure you can have a seat in the Institute (General category) & around 99 for other categories. They'll guide you through the process if you are eligible. Frequency of exams is quite high but it does not overload the students. We have Internal Sems, Mid Sems and End Sems with lab and theory exams. The academics really prepare you well for industry with the kind of subjects they teach besides just technical knowledge, such as Soft Skills, Professional Communication Skills, etc.

As I fall in NT-C/2 category, I had to pay hardly Rs. 27,000/- per year. Scholarships are heavily given to the students. General category has to pay Rs. 2,00,000/- per year but that’s the average fee in Mumbai. Mostly the fee only consists of Tuition Fee, Development Fee & other charges. I am studying Computer Engineering at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Mumbai. This course usually has the highest cut-off in this Institute. The faculty in this department is usually more lenient as compared to others. My department mostly has the best placement in this Institute. The exams are based on semester pattern. Admission process of this Institute is not that much of a hassle; the non-teaching staff is also good.

The fee structure is programmed in such a way that everyone has the middle ground like the SC and ST have conveniently low fees which is really good . People from all over Maharashtra come as well. They also have quota for Jammu & Kashmir students too.Read Full Review
