Madhabdev University is a millennial university in the exotic city of North Lakhimpur in Assam. The university is located in Narayanpur, which is about 50 kilometers from Lakhimpur District. Erstwhile it was known as Madhabdev College of Narayanpur, which is now converted into one of the best architectural marvels in Madhabdev University, Lakhimpur. The current Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, holds the position of Chancellor and Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka serves as his deputy of Madhabdev University, Lakhimpur. The university may not be picturesque, but the town of Narayanpur is as the river Brahmaputra flows close to the university. The city holds significant historical importance as many monuments like Sattra, Tanks, and some ancient Temples are located very close to the university. The university has three schools on its campus and they are the school of sciences, the School of Social Sciences, and the school of Humanities. The campus of Madhabdev University covers an area of 20 acres and features an infrastructure that is both well-maintained and well-facilitated for the university's students.
Madhabdev University admissions require registration on their website, and after that, one has to fill out an online registration form that can be found on the university's official website. Once you are registered, you will be assisted on the call and through a chatbot to select the course, and your percentage determines whether you are eligible or not for the course you are looking for. The cut-offs, mind you are high for Madhabdev University courses. There are only two courses offered by the university and they are B.A., and B.Sc. There are eight specialized courses in B.A., and seven in B.Sc. Madhabdev University application forms are easily available on various other platforms other than their website. The supporting documents are required to attach along with the form, and once verified, you will be called at the University for counselling and once the fees are paid, the admissions will be granted. NSP (National Scholarship Portal) has taken the mantle into its hands to provide scholarships to students. Assam is a state that has the fourth highest tribal population in India, and for their upliftment, three major scholarship schemes have been started by the university. Not just tribes but any minority student can avail of that scholarship by just filling scholarship form. Apart from scholarships based on caste, there are meritorious scholarships too. Students scoring above 90% in HSC get one time waiver of 25% on their fees for the first year of their respective course. To continue scholarships, the students must consistently score well in their semester exams, and scholarships worth 10 to 50% can be availed with that. The state runs a scholarship program called FDR (Fixed Deposit Receipt), where students who give this program while studying in secondary school directly become eligible for scholarships. So, the university provides not just cast-based but also merit-based and result-based scholarships.

The academic program at Madhabdev University is outstanding, so placements are complimentary here. The university's placement department trains students rigidly because it believes that placement percentages are the best way to endorse their university. There's no better way to sell the university unless and until it provides placement. Thanks to such thought, the biggest beneficiaries of it are students themselves with little effort from them. The infrastructure of Madhabdev University is extremely well-equipped and well-facilitated, making it possible for the university to provide its students with one of the best possible facilities. There are three hostels at the university, but the capacity is less. The two girl’s hostel of the university, Old Girl's Hostel and New Girl's Hostel, has the capacity of accommodating 24 and 48 girls, respectively. The boy's hostel, on the other hand, just has 12 rooms with a capacity of accommodating 24 boys. The university infrastructure comprises two major blocks: administration and academic. The buildings are well maintained and though not new but still have a touch of elegance to it. The university library began operations in 1964 and is still preserved the same way, of course, with the addition of many new books and e-journals.
