Rajarambapu Institute of Technology is a leading technology college in Islampur, Sangli by KE society. The college was set up in 1983 and is an autonomous institute. The college is affiliated with Shivaji University, has NAAC accreditation with an A+ grade, and has UGC approval. For more than 35 years, the college has been offering technological education. Since then, it has consistently produced qualified engineering graduates. The college is also accredited by the Institute of engineers and TCS. The college also uses the now-commonly recognised choice-based credit system. Each department in the colleges has a board made up of business professionals who oversee the curriculum. The college recently received the AICTE Lilavati award. By NIRF rankings, it was ranked 7 in Maharashtra and 75 overall in India.
The college offers diplomas in automobile, electrical, mechanical, computer hardware maintenance, and civil engineering. It has B.Tech courses in CE, Computer, CS IT, and Mechatronics. Food technology and management, automotive, and telecommunication engineering programs are also there under UG programs. The college offers a variety of master's programs. Students can do M.Tech in construction management, structural, and design engineering. An MBA program is also an important degree that the college offers. The college has doctoral programs in civil and mechanical engineering. The college has one heating, ventilation and a/c certification course of 3 and 4 months.
The college also has a teaching and learning centre where more than 25 workshops were held. 1500+ participants benefited from this workshop and received 5 digital boards for use in the classroom by NPUI.
Rajarambapu Institute of Technology has a centralized admission process for the admission. Candidates can fill the form whenever the notification is out by the admission authority. There is no application fees for students who are applying based on the CET scores.
There is a reservation system used in the admission process. 13% of seats are there for SC students and 7% seats for STs as per the government rule. There is also 5% reservation for sons/daughters of army people and 5% seats for people who are differently abled.
Government-sponsored scholarships are available at Rajarambapu Institute of Technology. Students from SC/ST groups who earn less than 2.5 lacs annually are eligible for scholarships from the college. The denotified tribes of Maharashtra may also apply for scholarships through the VJNT programme. These tribes' annual income should be less than 1.5 lakhs. OBC students and members of special backward classes are also eligible for scholarships. The Raja Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship is available to EBC applicants. RIT has a dedicated cell that helps students in preparation. It guides them through mock interviews and weekly aptitude tests. The cell brings industry experts on the campus so that students can communicate and understand their respective organisation. The cell also arranges motivational talks and psychometric tests to help students. It keeps informing students about on and off campus job offers.
A list of notable employers that actively recruit at the college includes Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, HCL, and ACC. The campus has been visited by Amdocs, Capgemini, Wipro, Bosch, and Accenture for many years in order to select the most deserving applicants. During the 2021 academic year, more than 120 students were able to secure internships, and more than 100 offers with generous salaries were made to the students. 6 weeks of internships online and offline were also given to students.
RIT Sangli has an amazing and lush green campus situated on Pune to Bangalore highway. The college has a beautiful infrastructure with so many facilities.
Hostels: Over 600 boys and 400 or more girls can stay in the RIT hostels. There are six dining halls where students can eat well, and the dormitories have filtered water systems. The hostellers also have access to high speed internet, 24-hour water supply, and strict security. There is a medical clinic where faculty members and guests can receive free medical care.
Workshops & Labs: The College has set up a production centre and an innovation centre to help students develop practical skills. The college is running labs in accordance with industry requirements. The manufacturing tools and equipment are introduced to the students. The college also has a central computer centre which checks the wi-fi facility at the campus and software maintenance.
Library: The RIT central library has a good collection of 1 lac+ volume, titles, and 16000+ e-books. The books are there for the students and staff of engineering and management departments. This collection also includes reference books. The library has books for competitive and extracurricular exams like GATE, TOEFL, and MPSC, among others.
The college has a large auditorium besides a processing room and reception area. It has a patent office, reading halls, server rooms, and other facilities. There is a cafe at the college where students can sit and eat refreshment. Students may also use photocopying and printing devices at college.
