IIEST Shibpur Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

Hostels are very old because institute was established in 1856 but proper renovation is going on every year. New hostel that can accommodate around 1000 students is also under construction for both boys and girls. For UG and PG, hostels are separate. Each year of UG has separate hostels and hostel is providing their respective separate mess facilities. Proper water, Wi-Fi and 24×7 electricity supply is provided in every hostel. For girls, there will be 3 hostels 1 for 1st UG and PG girls and facilities are same as that of boy’s hostels. Hostels are a bit old but all facilities are provided. For 1st and 2nd Year students, 4 people have to share a room. Rooms are given with beds, wardrobes, tables, etc. The mess provides food to all students all over India. The Institute has residential facilities inside the campus. There are 9 boy’s hostel & 3 girl’s hostel. Apart from that PhD scholars get quarters in the Institute campus itself. The overall infrastructure of the hostels is decent. But, the condition of girl’s hostel is very good because it is newly constructed. Every hostel provides 24×7 electricity, water and Wi-Fi connection. There is separate mess in each hostel. The taste and quality of the food served is quite good. Both veg. and non-veg. options are available. There is washing machine for each floor of the hostel. For recreational activities, there is a common room available where you get a television & facilities for games like table tennis, chess, carom, etc.Read Full Review
