Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University was established in 2016 by the Government of Jharkhand. It is the third university in the nation which provides diploma, certificate, and degree courses in the domain of internal security and police science. It is a State University approved by UGC.
Vision: To ensure harmony and peace and bring transformative impact on the society by continuous innovation in research, education, technological skills and knowledge, and creativity in cyber forensics and security administration.
Mission: Imparting customised education in internal and external security and ensuring trained and specialised personnel for employment in security agencies such as private security, cyber security, forensic scientists, police department, and defence.

JRSU has a Placement Cell which helps the students by guiding and assisting them. The cell enhances the talent and knowledge of students through counseling sessions, mock interviews, group exercises, pre-placement talks, etc. The cell provides training to the students as per the industrial requirements and organises workshops, conferences, and guest lectures. The Cell ensures that the students are provided with appropriate employment opportunities.
JRSU conducts its activities from the Old Judicial Academy building which is situated at Meurs Road in Ranchi. The permanent campus is spread over 75 acres and is at a distance of 30 kms from Ranchi. The University provides infrastructure and facilities for the holistic development of the students. The facilities include auditorium, conference hall, canteen, hostel, library which has Books, Journals, Periodicals, Newspapers, e-Books, Wi-Fi, etc. Library has a reading room and provides referral services, reference services, OPAC, etc. Along with this, the students are provided with ample opportunities and are encouraged to participate in curricular activities, co-curricular activities, and sports activities organised by the University.
