Gujarat Arts and Science College [GASC], Ahmedabad was established in the year 1860 as a Public Educational Institution. GASC Ahmedabad is accredited by NAAC, and is affiliated with Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Gujarat Arts and Science College offers admission in the field of Humanities, Science and Arts at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Dr. Arunendra Singh Rathore is the Principal.
Gujarat Arts & Science College started in 1879, on an area of about 30 acres, in the city of Ahmedabad. Earlier the college was handled by Gujarat College Committee and currently the college comes under the management of Commissioner of Higher Education, under the State Government. The college received its permanent affiliation from Gujarat University in the subjects of science, has been accredited by NAAC, and received an approval from UGC.
The idea about vision & mission of GASC can be accessed from the symbol presented as a crest by the college. The elements of crest, such as, the shield, red & gold colour, the crown, a lighted lamp, the chevron & the sambur, these all serve a meaning and symbolise motive of the college, which drives students towards the light of knowledge with swift learning.

The college offers UG/PG courses in the subjects of Arts & Science.
The college provides BA Courses, in the subject of English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Urdu, Sociology, Philosophy, Economics, History, Political Science, Persian, Psychology, etc. and, MA Courses are provided in the subject of Gujarati, Hindi, Sociology, Psychology, etc., and the college also provides a full time degree course in drama.
Students can pursue B.Sc & M.Sc from this college in various subjects such as, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.
GASC provides admission to students on the basis of merit achieved by them in qualifying examinations. Students can apply through the official website of the college and then they are provided a seat according to the merit list prepared by the college.

Candidates fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility criteria can apply for admissions into the college, and they can be allocated with a seat by the college on the basis of merit list prepared by the college on the basis of applications received.
Every year the Maintenance & Scholarship fund is collected by the college, which is managed by the Principal, Gujarat College as an administrator. These scholarship funds are used to honour the meritorious students as well as, who are in actual need of such scholarship for their further continuation of studies without any financial constraint. Some of the TCE scholarships that are managed by the college are Govardhanram Madhavram Tripathi Scholarship, Vishnubhai Bhagwantrai Vaman Scholarship, Indumati Kanjibhai Shukla Scholarship.

Since, past several years, Gujarat Arts & Science College has been organising a placement fair, in which various renowned companies & organisations participate. Numerous students associated with the college have been placed with organisations such as, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Accurate Healthcare, Capermint Technologies, Line Software, etc.
GASC provides a well furnished infrastructure, with the facilities of hostel, well equipped labs, classrooms, library, gymnasium, canteen, bank, as well as facility of indoor & outdoor sports activities, and the college also provides facility of high speed 24/7 internet. Since, infrastructure plays an important role in any student’s life, keeping that in mind, Gujarat Arts & Science College, provides a great infrastructural facility, so that students can enjoy living in a home away from their home.
