Raja Peary Mohan College was founded on June 20, 1887 as a government college. It aspires to empower students with knowledge, provide facilities for research, and create awareness of human rights.
Affiliated with University of Calcutta, Raja Peary Mohan College is also accredited by the NAAC. Initially, the college was offering only a BA program. Later in 1956 and 1958, the college got affiliation for the B.Sc and B.Com courses respectively. These programs are offered under various specialisations for Arts, Science, and Commerce streams.

Admission to the B.A / B.Sc / B.Com programs will be made through online mode only. Candidates who are seeking admission have to submit an online application, and to do so follow the steps given below:
Based on the information provided by the students, the college will release a provisional merit list. On a notified date, the e-counselling process will commence. In this procedure, merit-list students will have to choose the courses and the optional subjects they’re interested in. They will also have to upload documents like signature, photograph, educational certificates, migration certificate and caste certificates (if applicable). Admission will be offered after paying the admission fees.
