Sophia College for Women Faculty Profile, Mumbai

I did my Junior College (HSC) in the Science faculty and then did my bachelor's in Arts. So I have experienced the environment of the Science as well as the Arts faculty. Both the faculties of Sophia are as amazing as the college is! The teachers are very understanding and highly qualified. Also, teachers do offer some regular peer classes which help students cope well with their studies. The library and laboratory staffs are nice and helpful, too. Almost all the professors have a great experience and they always make an effort to pass on their knowledge to the students. Also, the faculty staff guides students if they want to pursue further education in various fields.Read Full Review

The Faculty in the Science department are really hard to handle. It's a school environment totally and the main faculty i.e. from the Principal to the major decision-makers there are sisters, hence the strict environment. You can use your phones only in the canteen and nowhere in the college & violating the rule would confiscate your phone for a day or two with some amount of fine. That's okay it's a part of college life but there are many other rules which drain you out in the long run. Teachers at the graduation level are good and helpful if you are an obedient and attentive student while teachers in FYJC & SYJC are very difficult to handle. The faculty is very favorable to first benchers and rankers while average and mediocre students just have to find their own way.Read Full Review

Star or should I say superstar quality faculties were present at Sophia College for Women. All of them with a decorated master’s degree and some of them even PhD were the ones who used to teach us. Some of them also were professionals who took time off their profession to take some guest lectures. Well, it might be a Christian college but when it comes to faculty they were purely chosen on Merit as there was no Christian quota for faculties like the college has for students. The faculties also appreciated the fact and always promoted that education shouldn’t be based on reservations. Trust me some of them were SC and OBC and still they promoted that. Hence, faculties here were unbiased as they right felt that education or rather quality education should be imparted to all those who are willing to have it.Read Full Review
