The Swami Vivekananda University started operations in 2019 under the Regent Education and Research Foundation (RERF). The University is UGC approved and recognised by the Department of Higher Education, West Bengal & the Government of West Bengal.

Admission Process
Eligible candidates can take admission in the University through the following processes:
Through Entrance Test: For admission, candidates can fill in the Admission Form online at the official website of the University. Post this, students have to appear for the Swami Vivekananda University Common Entrance Test (SVU CET), followed by a Personal Interview.
Direct Admission: Direct Admission to the SVU Kolkata is offered to the candidates who have qualified the Preliminary IIT / JEE / WBJEE / CAT / MAT / XAT / CLAT. Students who have secured more than 70% marks in the 10th & 12th standard are also eligible for the same.
* Direct admission is also offered under the sports quota for the students who have played at National Level & also to the students of Foreign Nationals.
