Swami Vivekananda University is located at Barrackpore in a beautiful surrounding with greenery all around the campus. The University has all modern amenities to support a well-rounded student life including a gym, cafeteria, auditorium, open air theatre, and more.

- Library: The Central Library of SVU Kolkata caters to the UG and PG students, researchers, and faculty among others. The library has over 10,000 books, approximately 5000 titles, and 100+ journals. The library uses the KOHA software for library management and administration. Moreover, there is a unique website that can be used by the library users for accessing e-resources even remotely.
- Laboratories: The University has departmental labs with hi-tech equipment. Some of the available laboratories at SVU Kolkata include an Engineering Lab, an Agriculture Lab, a Food and Nutrition Lab, and language labs.
- Sports: Various indoor sports facilities such as a Badminton court and other board games are available at SVU Kolkata. The present infrastructure is being upgraded to include an indoor swimming pool and a Basketball court.
- Hostels: Swami Vivekananda University hostel provides accommodation to students. There are common rooms available in the hostels to offer facilities for recreational activities for the students. Moreover, there are indoor games facilities available for hostel residents.
- Food court: The University has a food court with professional staff providing around 4 meals a day to the students residing at the hostels. The food court runs on a self-service basis. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is prepared in the modern kitchen of the food court. There is a dining hall inside the food court spread across around 6000 square ft. area where about 450 students can dine-in together at a time.
- Transportation: The University provides bus services to the students, depending on the availability of seats. The students need to note that seats for availing transportation services are allotted on a first cum first serve basis.
- Medical Facilities: The SVU Kolkata has a Wellness and Health Centre in the management building with around 5 beds. Students are provided with primary care facilities by a qualified medical practitioner. Moreover, there is an ambulance available on campus 24x7 for any medical emergencies. Also, regular health check-up camps & physiotherapy sessions are organised for the students and staff.
- Gymnasium: There is a gym and yoga centre set-up at the campus of SVU Kolkata for ensuring the physical fitness of students. The gymnasium has state-of-the-art equipment with a gym trainer to guide students during exercise.
