Students, who have cleared the entrance exams, have to go through an assessment process conducted by the college that includes Group Discussions and Personal Interviews to understand the personalities of candidates. The college then publishes a merit list of the students who have scored more than 70% in this assessment process on their official website. Students who pass these rounds become eligible to take admission to the PGDM courses offered by the college. The selected students are informed through SMS, email, or call at their convenience.

Dr. D.Y. Patil B-School Pune Placements Cell was formed to train and guide students for recruitment in the corporate world globally. The Placement cell ensures that students get proper training and acquire compatible skills to start working in leading companies. The cell focuses on the personality development of the students by arranging required activities such as classroom training, workshops, panel discussion, and assessment centers along with guest lectures. Short-term projects are offered to the students during their course to assist them in understanding business ethics and learning capabilities in their field of interest. The Placement Cell also arranges Summer internships for the students to provide them exposure to the market and professional world along with enhancing their business skills. Students are required to complete their internship within 8 weeks during their summer breaks between the second and third semesters in the final year.
The college has also included Live Projects in the course for students to make it more industry-focused and prepare them for the corporate world in advance. The students are provided with several live projects based on distinguished profiles and domains to make them understand about day-to-day difficulties and requirements of the industry experiences.
