Thakur Polytechnic was established in 1998, as an institute for technical education. The institute has been approved by AICTE and NBA and is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The institute has been providing quality education in the technical field and hence it received an ISO certification.
Vision: To create highly developed young minds by providing extensive knowledge in the field of technical education, so that they can contribute effectively in the development of the nation, through their intellect.
Mission: To promote education in the technical field with the help of great academic structure, latest infrastructure and facilities, in order to make students capable of changing the status of the growth of the society.
The institute provides diploma courses related to the department of information technology, civil engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, interior designing, etc.
Thakur Polytechnic provides admission to the students who fulfill minimum eligibility criteria and fill the online application form through Centralised Admission Process (CAP), and later on the remaining seats are filled through direct applications received by the institute. The admission is provided completely on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates.
For application of admission into any of the diploma courses, the candidates must be Indian citizens and obtain a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in 5 subjects of 10+2 examination.
While applying, the candidates must have to submit the required documents as prescribed by the institute, and after selection of their application, they have to appear for the interview process, passing which will lead to their admission into the institute.

Tpoly provides numerous scholarships as per the guidelines specified by the state and central government. Various scholarships are fixed for the students who are meritorious, belong from reserved category, are financially unstable, or are not in a position to pay fees for their higher education; such students get a benefit or concession in their academic fees through the scholarships which are provided by the institute. A scholarship is provided to the students who belong from SC/ ST/ VJNT/ SBC, etc. category, in which total tuition fees concession is provided to the students. Under the scholarships for EBC & OBC category students, a 50% concession is provided in the tuition fees. Certain amount of scholarships is fixed for the students who belong from state level or national level minority category. Under MSBTE scholarship, benefit to meritorious students is provided who obtain at least 70% marks in qualifying examination. These scholarships are subject to the criteria fixed by the institute for the CAP as well as Institute level candidates.
