Government Law College Coimbatore

Government Law College Coimbatore was established in the year 1979, to meet the increasing demand for law colleges, by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The college offers B.A LL.B and LL.B programs at the UG level and LL.M program at the PG level.

Vision: The vision of the college is to impart high-quality education to its students in the field of law and transform the society with their knowledge, skill, and empathy.

Mission: The college aims to educate the students using a dynamic approach, and motivate them to excel in sports and other extracurricular activities. The college seeks to inculcate a sense of responsibility into the students to turn them into responsible citizens.

Candidates seeking admission into the UG and PG programs offered by the college have to clear the minimum eligibility requirements, and they are as follows:

*For SC / ST candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying scores.

Admission Process

To apply for the Government Law College Coimbatore admissions, candidates have to fill up the online application form. Follow the steps mentioned below for successful registration of the programs offered by the college:

• Visit the official website of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai
• Click on ‘Law Admission’ option displayed on the top right corner of the dashboard
• Further, click on the link of the course you’re interested in
• Fill out the registration form using name, date of birth, mobile no., and email id
• Use the login credentials received on email id or phone no.
• Start filling the application form using personal and educational details
• Candidates also have to enter the maximum marks and marks obtained in other subjects for eligibility and ranking purposes
• Fill out the school details
• After filling the application, click on ‘Submit’
• A preview window will pop up. Rectify the errors if there is any
• Click on ‘Save and Proceed’
• Upload documents like photograph / signature / marksheets
• Pay the registration fees through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI
• Once the payment is successful, your application will be submitted. Take a print out of your application for future reference

Based on students’ marks secured in the last qualifying examination and availability of seats at the college, the authority releases a provisional merit list of the eligible and selected candidates. Further, the selected candidates have to attach a few documents to the email IDs presented by the authority. After the verification round, the candidates are issued allotment orders online. On a prescribed date, the classes for the respective programs commence at the allotted colleges.

• Copy of filled-in application form
• Class 10 & 12 Marksheets
• Diploma Program Certificate (if any)
• Degree / Provisional Certificate, Consolidated Mark Sheets, and all marksheets of the qualifying degree course (For PG students)
• Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate
• Community Certificate / Special Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Preference for the affiliated law college

GLC Coimbatore provides scholarships to the dedicated and meritorious students. This encourages the students to continue their higher education without having to worry about the finances. Through scholarships, students are able to cover their college expenses like tuition fees, accommodation charges, and other miscellaneous expenses. The college offers scholarships to both the residential and non-residential students. Eligible students can avail the scholarship only subject to 90% attendance.
