Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology [IIST Trivandrum] established in 2007 is a Deemed to be University, currently having 101-150 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology was established in 2007. It imparts high quality education and emphasises on space applications, space technology, and space sciences. It functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Space, Government of India. The idea of this institute was raised to provide high quality manpower to the Indian Space Research Organisation. It emphasises on research for applications of space sciences and to develop future technologies. It was declared as a Deemed to be University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. The institute is approved by AICTE and UGC.

IIST Trivandrum has a Placement Cell which provides guidance, training, and support to the students.
