GIL has an Internship and Placement Cell whose role is to provide guidance to its students for their bright future. The cell maintains its professional relationship with corporate houses, law firms, NGO’s, regulatory bodies, etc to provide employment opportunities to the students. The cell arranges interactive sessions, training programs, and facilitates internship opportunities which help students in gaining knowledge and practical experience. The cells’ objective is to bridge the gap between corporate and students and also organise campus placements. Moreover, for increasing the skills of the students, it emphasises on skill development programs and personality development programs.
The past recruiters of the GIL Panipat are Natrika Consulting, Accenture, IIFL Home Finance, Infosys, Panipat District Court, Delhi High Court, Chandigarh High Court, Haryana Judicial Services, and many others.
For the overall development of the students, GIL provides all the basic infrastructure and amenities in the campus. The Wi-Fi enabled campus of the institute has fully furnished and air-conditioned smart classrooms which are equipped with necessary teaching aids like LCD projectors and provides a comfortable seating facility. Geeta Institute of Law began its journey in 2007. This law institute trains students so they can be successful practitioners and capable of improving the existing law by scientific and analytical study along with comparative study. GIL is affiliated to Kurukshetra University and approved by the Bar Council of India. CSR-GHRDC Law school survey 2019 has ranked it as the 12th among Top Law School of Excellence in India.
The institute emphasizes on publication and research along with imparting professional training. Students, as well as faculty, need a variety of books for academics and research purposes. Hence the academia features a well-equipped library that is considered as the lawyer laboratory: the library treasures law reports, journals, and books. More than eighty journals and reports are subscribed. Twenty magazines and different newspapers are also available. About thousands of books added to the collection every year. The library also has a collection of journals/books/law reports that are donated by prestigious lawyers and reputed individuals. The open-access system allows students to access the books directly from the books shelves.
Academia follows strict attendance rules, and students have to maintain 80% attendance to appear for examinations. This prestigious institute offers various Law courses such as B.A.LLB, BBA LLB, LLB, and LLM. A candidate seeking admission in B.A.LLB, BBA LLB courses must have a valid score in G-LAT (Geeta Law Admission Test) and personal interview. The entrance exam fills 75% of the seats, whereas Management Quota fills 25%. Based on merit, the final selection is done.
Admission in LLB and LLM will be made according to the performance in interview and marks in the qualifying exam. Academia also considers candidates who have appeared for the Law School Admission Test (L-SAT).
