Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University is one of its kind educational institutes which the government of Haryana set up in the year 2018. The university is just few kms away from the main town of Kaithal and is located in a village called Mundri. The university has adopted an experimental way of teaching and operates in Sanskrit medium. University has been built in nurturing the Gurukul tradition which is more or less gone of out Indian education system. The university offers B.A., B.Ed, and M.A., and Doctoral level courses. Prof. Ramesh Chander Bhardwaj is the vice-chancellor of the university and has laid out many important facts on having a Sanskrit university in India.
The university is built one on the pillar of language carrier as there’s no doubt in the saying that Sanskrit is the carrier language of the Indian culture. The language’s scientific power has been accepted by non-other than NASA as they have gone on to say that it’s the most scientific language of the world. Every where else in the world the schools and colleges for teaching Sanskrit is on an upward trend while our country which base language is Sanskrit is witnessing a declining trend. Even in America alone there are close to 20 universities that teaches Sanskrit. One of the most technical advanced nations in Germany has 17 Sanskrit Universities. The attraction towards the language is ever growing and India shouldn’t be left behind. This is why the Maharishi Valmiki University Kaithal has been set-up to prove a point that there are people in India who are still interested in learning the language and do wonders not just by becoming Sahstri’s or Acharya but in the field of science & technology too.
Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University admissions are done through MVSU entrance exams for all the UG programs that the university offers. Some of the specialization in B.A. and B. Ed Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University courses include Shastri and Shiksha-Shastri. The university also offers M.A. with Acharya specialization apart from doctoral and PhD programs.

Bus facility
For the students coming from any villages in Haryana can use Haryana Roadways bus at free of cost by just carrying their IDs. Apart from that, the university too has set-up bus facility to pick-up and drop to Kaithal bus stop to the students studying in the university.
Railway Facility
All the students who study at the University who wants to go home or for vacations during summer or winter vacations or returning back from their hometown after the vacations, the railway fares are been waived off by the Indian railways. However, for the final year, students the fees to go home will only be waived off by the railways. The steps to get railway concession are listed below:
Students have to submit the application a week before they are scheduled to start their journey
The university has a friend’s office and that is where the application has to be submitted. The concession is available to only the students who are below 25 as these are Indian railway norms.
If the students are going on some research work, then they can avail the railway discount at any point in time of any city they are visiting.
The university is located in village and therefore hostel becomes a lynchpin among all the other facilities that the university offers. There are hostels for girls and boys and most students studying at the university stays at the hostels as students come here from all regions of the country to study. The library of the university is spacious and rich. One will find some of the rare Sanskrit scripture’s books at the library. Besides books and scriptures, library also provides magazines and research papers to its students. There are some departmental libraries and one central library. The rules remain the same for the library and students are advised to follow them.
Laboratories or the Prayogshala Suvidha are available at the university campus. The university has many laboratories in psychology labs, computer labs, technical laboratories and the most important of them all the language teaching laboratories etc. The rules of the laboratories are displayed in each lab and students have to follow them at all costs.
