BGS School of Architecture and Planning came into existence in the year 2013 in Bangalore under the umbrella of Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshan Trust. The trust was started in 1973 with the aim of rendering educational, charitable, social, and medical services with the blend of spiritualism.
The institute is approved by the Council of Architecture and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technical University, Belagavi, Karnataka. BGSSAP is the perfect place for those who want to sharpen, pursue and develop skills in architecture and want to contribute to the creation of a viable built environment as a sensitive and responsible Global citizen. The institution focuses on Go-Green concepts. For achieving this, the academia imparts a Bachelor course in Architecture. The program taught has a well-balanced curriculum that includes current requirements in environmental awareness, materials, processes, and future practices to create architects of the next generation with valuable skills to develop a long-lasting built environment.
The range of subjects included in the curriculum includes pre-designing stages to final design, construction, and post-construction, operation, maintenance and evaluation of constructed buildings. The institute gives hands-on experience to the students by organizing seminars, workshops, site-visits, study-tours within the country or abroad. This is done to provide a complete educational perspective.
Academia has been awarded as the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture by the Academic Unit of Council of Architecture. It bags the best national level PG thesis award and state-level Inter College.
