Atmiya University is a private university situated in Rajkot, Gujarat, and was established on 13th April’2018 under the Gujarat Private University Act 11, 2018 by Sarvodaya Kelavani Samaj and is still in its infant stage as a university. Atmiya University follows the motto of “Suhardam Sarva Bhootanam”, which means the willingness to achieve harmony with all creations of God.
Spread over a large area of 23.5 acres of land, Atmiya University is one of the top universities in the state. It is the first university in Gujarat to get selected by UGC (University Grant Commission) to start Post Graduation programs. The university offers over 24 UG, 13 PG, and almost 6 Diploma programs in Engineering & Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Business & Commerce, Paramedical, and Humanities and Social Sciences. At Atmiya, the priority is an emphasis on training youth, focusing on human values, and spreading happiness. Within five years of its establishment, the university has achieved many milestones in its qualitative education and in providing refined facilities.
The University offers over 49 courses in UG, PG, and Diploma courses, and also offers Ph.D. in various streams. Atmiya University proposed 4 new faculties in 2020, of which the Faculty of Transformative Learning & the Faculty of Liberal Education are the most anticipated. The university takes admission based on merit and also based on scores on state or national level entrance exams.
Online Admissions: The mode of the application process and submission for admission is online by filling out the university’s admission form. Atmiya University offers various courses and students can apply for any of those by selecting the option on admission forms, also there is an admission inquiry form, in case students are unable to visit the university anytime soon and have admission inquiries.
Entrance Exam: The University accepts students for UG and PG courses based on their merit or the marks of their state or national entrance exam. For the PG courses, Atmiya University takes admission based on university-level exam scores. Apart from all this, the university also conducts its entrance exam, which is online-based and can be opted as the last option, for late admissions.
Interview: PG students’ admission is based on university-level scores and an interview conducted by the university. The interview and university entrance exams are not mandatory for students who are applying through the scores of state or national level entrance exams.
Document Verification: This is the last step of the admission process, once a student is admitted to the university he has to get his documents verified by the university’s admission cell. These documents would be 10+2, Graduation, and in the case of PhD Post-Graduation degrees, identity proof, address proof, etc. Diploma admission also requires document verification.
The university provides scholarships to students on basis of their percentage in their respective courses. Other than that scholarship programs for the reserved class, that is, SC, ST, Economic Weaker Sections, and disabled students are also provided. Atmiya gives both institutional and government scholarships. Apart from that, the university provides a stipend to GATE qualifiers for doing PG; this stipend is AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) delivered. Students who participate and perform at various National & International events are also given scholarships.

The Atmiya University Rajkot is so dedicated and active in assuring the placements of its students in top companies. It offers various pieces of training, internships, industrial visits, and special courses for better placement and has a Training and Placement Department with officers to handle and ensure the placement of students in big companies. Atmiya has also signed MoUs with many big organizations and firms for the training and development of students in the technical, non-technical, or industrial departments.
Training: The University’s expert faculties provide training and classes for Aptitude learning to students. Aptitude is the most important aspect of a job in any field and recruiters look at a student’s aptitude ability primarily, because it checks Analytical, Operational, and Application abilities. The university also offers various workshops on the basics for any job like resume formation, personality development, etc. There’s also training with made-up interviews before the actual interviews with the recruiters, so, the chances of any rejection are reduced to the lowest point.
Atmiya University also offers internships to students, because having high grades isn’t enough to get jobs in large industries or companies. The internship let students have practical work experience, build their confidence, extend their networks, and enhance their work ethics. These internships can also help individuals to understand what kind of job they want and can do.
The university offers counselling and mentorship to its students from day one to the day they get placed in companies or firms. A mentor is assigned to a group of 20 students, he guides, assists, advice, teaches and helps in the development of an individual from the very beginning of the course. And like schools, parents or guardians are called to the premises if a student is not regular or distracted from his path. This guidance helps students in choosing the right career and makes them ready to face the real world.
Entrepreneurial Developmental Cells: One of the oldest cells at the university, entrepreneurial developmental cells envision creating independent business people, by enlightening their creative & innovative skills, entrepreneurial instincts, and risk-taking abilities.
The training and placement cell focuses on developing individuals’ abilities, skills, confidence, and instincts targeting companies like TCS, Reliance, L&T, etc.
The University is based on a large land area and has a huge campus. Atmiya University has smart classrooms with projector facilities; there are separate audio/video lecture recording rooms, and computer & language labs. The library at the university is exceptional and called The Library and Learning Centre (LLC); it is based on 3 floors and has centralized air-conditioning, CCTV cameras, and fire alarms. From books, journals, e-books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers, and e-journals, it has all resources in Engineering, Science, Business & Management, Technology, Humanities & Social Sciences, etc. LLC is equipped with all the advanced technologies and even offers various video courses, now; LLC is using web-OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), which is an online search facility.
Atmiya University has three auditoriums with an air-conditioned facility, ICT enabled, and a seating capacity of more than 300 in two and over 700 in one of the auditoriums. The university has separate hostels for boys & girls, with a capacity of over 350 students in each. Hostel buildings have both cubicle rooms and dormitories, and they are well-furnished and spacious, both hostels have a common room for indoor games, gyms, get-togethers, etc, and also a volleyball court, a badminton court, and a cricket ground. The mess at the hostel provides fresh and hygienic food.
Facilities
The university has huge grounds for outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, and other sports activity, it also has indoor spaces for games like chess, badminton, carom-board, etc. Sports Guiding and Counselling programs and State & National level coaching camps are conducted often.
The library and student store provide photocopying and printing facility to students. The student store provides all the necessary stationary items. The medical care of Atmiya University ensures the health of its students; it provides necessary healthcare and medicinal facilities.
