AIPH University Bhubaneswar or Asian Institute of Public Health has been in existence since 2008. It was started with an aim to engage in research activities to prevent infections and to share and improve population health related problems in India and in the neighboring Asian countries. As the university expanded, it added several new courses at Master’s and Doctorate level resulting in it getting a Private University status in the year 2018 through state legislature.

Students are given various options to choose courses of their choice in the streams of Medical and Health Sciences, Science and Business and Management Studies. The wide range of courses offered by the university include MPT, M.Sc, B.Sc, MBA, BBA, B.Voc, BPT, BOPTM, UG Diploma, PG Diploma, BPH, MPH, MBA/PGDM, etc. These courses are offered in both full time and part time mode in the following center operating under the university.
Admissions to the university are subject to the academic credentials and performance in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the university. Ph.D degrees are offered in the disciplines of Public Health, Biological Sciences and Health Care Management in both full time and part time mode. The minimum eligibility criteria required for admission is a Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks taken together in concerned subjects or the allied subjects. Short listing of the candidates for the Ph.D courses is on the basis of the performance in the written test, interview, and on the availability of seats in the respective courses. Multiple Merit and Need-based scholarships are awarded to the meritorious candidates to encourage them for higher studies. To avail the scholarships it is mandated to fulfill the eligibility criteria which is different for different scholarships. Students are allowed to apply for scholarships at the time of admission and at the end of two semesters in each department. Besides scholarships financial assistance is also provided to the students performing exceptionally well in academics. The responsibility of the student’s placements is efficiently taken care by the Office of Career Services (OCS) at the university. Necessary steps from time to time are taken by OCS to provide professional guidance to the students to get the job that matches their interest and career goals. The Cell analyses the demands of the jobs in diverse fields and makes them available to the students to select their preferred industry. Various organisations, companies, NGOs etc are invited to take part in the job fair conducted at the university campus. Furthermore, notifications of the vacancies related to the field are posted on the official website informing the students of the same.
The OCS acts as a catalyst in shaping student’s dream careers by disseminating the essential skills that increases their potential required to secure a job. The constant efforts of the Cell has placed many of its students in prestigious organisations like the Department for International Development, Ministry of Health Government of India, World Health Organisation, UNICEF, National Health Mission, Integrated Directional Signing Program, The Inclen Trust International, and more.
AIPH University’s campus is located at the center of Bhubaneswar with all the high tech facilities necessary to support education, training, research, and innovation activities of the students. The University is among a few Public Health Institutions in India with high tech laboratories, attached hospitals, and field sites. The management makes sure that students are provided an enthusiastic environment and top notch facilities to support their learning. The class rooms are air conditioned, and there are various laboratories to perform experiments to gain practical knowledge.
Besides the academic facilities, the other necessary facilities at the university campus include Hostel accommodation for the students with a mess facility to cater to their hunger needs. An auditorium is also built on the premises to perform various activities and performances.
