St. Xavier's University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Kolkata

St. Xavier’s University (SXU), Kolkata provides students with accommodation facilities through its separate hostels for boys’ and girls’ within the campus. The hostels are designed in a way to provide students with spacious and secure living space.

There are around 2 hostel buildings at St. Xavier’s University Kolkata namely, “Mother Teresa Niwas” for girls’ and “Tagore Niwas” for boys’, which can collectively accommodate around 500 students. Allotment of the rooms to students is based on double and triple sharing. The St. Xavier's University Kolkata hostel fee ranges from Rs. 1,50,000 /- to Rs. 1,92,000 /- per year.

Students who have enrolled in any program of the SXU Kolkata are eligible to avail the facility of the hostels. Students are required to pay St. Xavier's University Kolkata hostel fee through online payment sites or RTGS / NEFT or DDs (in some special cases).

Students are required to pay the hostel before joining. Also, the paid fee is not refundable after the admission to the hostel.

To make the environment of the hostel conducive, comfortable, and safe, the University has set up some rules and regulations for the students to follow. The breach of the specified rules and regulations can lead to strict disciplinary action towards the hostellers; the details about the same are as follows:

• Hostellers are not allowed to leave the University campus after 7:30 pm without seeking prior permission from the respective authorities with valid reason.
• Indulging in any form of ragging is banned. Moreover, engaging in any form of political or communal activity which is against law or the Government is prohibited for the students.
• Objectionable items such as alcoholic drinks, any kind of drugs, and others are strictly prohibited for possession and/or consumption in the hostel premises.
• Safety of personal belongings and valuable items is the responsibility of the hostellers only. The respective authorities will not bear the cost of any lost belongings.
• Students are required to strictly maintain the silence from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Residents are only allowed to eat their food in the mess only. They are strictly prohibited to bring any cooked food item (from mess or outside) in the hostel rooms.
• Students can not bring any electronic gadgets and musical instruments inside the hostel rooms. To keep such gadgets a written request from the Director is required.

The St. Xavier's University Kolkata hostel rooms are available in double and triple occupancy options along with attached and common washrooms at the St. Xavier's University Kolkata Campus. All the rooms have a covered balcony and are equipped with adequate amenities like beds, study table, mirror, etc.

The mess of the hostel provides students with three meals a day i.e., breakfast, lunch & dinner. Moreover, both vegetarian & non-vegetarian food is available for the students, as per their preferences.
