The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University was established in the year 2018. So, it’s safe to say that it’s still a relatively new university. The University’s president is Dr. Keshav Badaya. The university in such a short time has unfolded in creating such individual who will become the leader in all walks of their life and thereby making some phenomenal contribution to the society. The main aim of the University is not just in providing an education but providing a holistic development, so that students can perfect themselves in whatever skillsets they possess.
CSMU Panvel offers around 40+ courses, so almost all the courses are under their belt. The Chhatrapati Shivaji University is located in the new educational hub of the state as Navi Mumbai has become as big as Mumbai or Pune in terms of education. The lush green, sprawling campus is located in Panvel. The university has six colleges under its belt and they are Facilty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts, Humanities, & Communication, and Faculties of Commerce, Management, & Hospitality. The university offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure that has independent administration & academic block, laboratories, hostels, play ground etc.
One thing for which, the university has always raised their voice is bullying and therefore, the university has set-up the Anti-Ragging committee that prevents bullying of students of any kind. The Committee makes sure that both genders feel safe inside the campus. Mental health has been a subject talked about since the outbreak of Covid-19 and the university has addressed that by inviting experts and making students aware about it so that anyone suffering from it comes forward and don’t feel shy about it.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University admissions are open for all irrespective of their cast, creed, colour, or religion. The student can be from any ethnic group following any culture and all are welcomed to the university with open arms.The University teaches students to turn dreams into realities. For getting admission to B.Tech students has to produce their JEE, AIEEE or CUCET entrance scores. Maharashtrian students are eligible by qualifying for MHCET. For students to get admission for a diploma in any stream. They need to qualify BTE and MSBTE exams. To get admission to any law courses, students need to qualify CLAT, or CUCET. To get Admission for BBA and BHM students need to qualify MHCET, or CUCET. To get admission for MBA and PGDM students must qualify GMAT, MAT, IMA, or MH-CET exams. If students don't appear for any of the mentioned entrance exams, then they are denied admissions here as apart from normal graduate courses like B.Com, B.Sc or B.A., all other courses have entrance and without that there’s no way one can get admissions here.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University believes in helping the ones who deserves and therefore they provide many financial rewards in form of scholarships. Based on Merit, students scoring 95% or above get a 50% scholarship. Students scoring 90-95% get a 25% scholarship. Students scoring 85-90% get a 10% Scholarship. For the students scoring 9.75-10 CGPA in a particular semester, get 50% scholarship for the next semester. Individuals with 9.50-9.75 CGPA get a 25% scholarship. Individuals scoring between 9-9.49 CGPA get a 10% scholarship.
The University also offers 10-25% scholarships to people who takes care of the security of the country. The students who are from paramilitary, defence, and police family backgrounds are eligible for this particular scholarship. The University has a special scholarship for students who have made their state or the country proud. The student representing India at the national level gets a 70% scholarship. The student representing at national level competition gets a 40% scholarship. The state-level player gets a 25% scholarship. Students excellent with academics and having weaker finances are eligible for scholarships through one of their programs but for that to happen, the students have to be academically stronger and should have a certain CGPA.
Students who lost their parents to Covid-19 get a 15% waiver on their course fees. Children and spouses of employees at the university get a 50% scholarship on their courses. Siblings of the employee and siblings’ children get the scholarship of 15%. A student and their brothers or sisters studying at the university at the same time can get a scholarship of 25%.
The university offers scholarships for students of reserved categories like SC, ST or OBC. SC and ST students get 35% scholarship while the OBC candidates get a scholarship of 20%. Divyang and minorities get a scholarship of 15%. Students can access only one scholarship at a time even if they are eligible for more than one scholarship. Students has to maintain a 75% attendance to be eligible for any type of scholarship.
The placement cell makes students job ready. The placement drive continues for 6-8 months. The Placement cell never disappoints the students. It consistently earns results for its students. The cell has a record of 73% placement last year. In addition to its partnership with over 250 companies like Bajaj Finserv, Badve group, Axis Bank, Amazon, IBM, Accenture and Airtel to name a few.
Students get jobs based on their expertise as they are trained to the core by the placement cell. The skills are developed of students from the formative years of their college life. The placement cell also runs a corporate research program that helps its students to dissolve into the corporate environment. Group discussions and mock interviews are also a very important part of a student’s placement journey and therefore the placement cell makes students go through such grind for months. In 2021-22, some companies have offered packages of 8+ LPA to more than 50 students.
Hostel – The University has separate hostel for girls and boys. The Hostels of the university are right next to the library. The hostels are built at a little distance from the University main building. The reason for building the hostels far from the main road is that students can have their tranquil. The hostels of the university are designed with well-planned, comfortable, contemporary facilities, and safety features like the guards and the CCTV cameras. Both the hostels of the university have various recreation & sports facilities, a well-equipped Gym. The hostel has their own grounds and only hostel students are allowed to enter those playgrounds. The hostels have a dedicated power back-up system and therefore if any power failure happens, the hostel remains untouched by any such event. The water supply is maintained at the hostels and the university has ensured that hostel taps have water running 24*7. Last but not the least, the hostels of the university are connected well with all parts of the Panvel city both by private and government transport.
Cafeteria – The university cafeteria has around 30 round tables that can accommodate 150 students at a time. The cafeteria of the university is adept in catering all the craving that students have by providing them combo meals offers, to snack, one can find it all at the cafeteria.
Auditorium – If there was a facility that needed a special mention that that is the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University’s auditorium. The two-floor auditorium has the seating capacity of over 800 students and the auditorium lights up during the university events like any Page 3 event.
There are various other facilities like multiple sports grounds, some of the finest labs, library, and gymnasium among others.
