It was Raja Mohammad Khan who proposed the idea of starting a university way back in 1919. The university finally came into existence in the year 1921 and in the century old university many notable alumni has come and gone and that legacy is still continued. Prof. Alok Kumar Rai is the Vice Chancellor of the university. In all, there are 10 faculties at the university that is spread in nearly 220 acres of land in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Total number of students studying at the university at one point in time is around 16k. There are over 400 teaching faculty and non-teaching staff number is close to 2k. There are nearly 550 associated colleges of the university and offers courses in 47 departments. Lucknow University is one of the oldest universities of India and even today it is among the most preferred choices of the candidates to study UG, or PG program.

University of Lucknow admissions are based on entrance scores or merit list which is based on 12^th scores. The university offers many UG courses like BCA, BBA, BJMC, B. Ed, B. Com, B. Sc, B.A., LLB, BFA, B. Tech and many more. University of Lucknow courses are plenty but for most of the courses, the students are required to clear the university entrance test UGET which is for undergraduate courses.

For PG courses, such as LLM, M. Com, M. Sc, MCA, MBA, M.A., MVA, MJMC, and others, PGET is mandatory. Students have to appear for PGET and on the basis of that score, admissions are granted at University of Lucknow.

For all Under Graduate, Post-Graduate, and PhD programs, University of Lucknow online application form is available on their site. The application form fee is INR 800 for General and OBC students and 400 for SC/ST/PH students. Steps on how to fill the application form:

Step 2 – Create your account
Step 3 – Fill the form and provide all the details be in general or educational, submit them all
Step 4 – Upload your scanned Photograph
Step 5 – Pay the application form fees as applicable
Step 7 – Print out the soft copy of acknowledgement 

For University of Lucknow Admissions, apart from university entrance many other entrance scores are considered such as UPSEE and JEE MAIN for B. Tech, LUMET/CAT for MBA.

There are two kinds of scholarships provided by University of Lucknow and they are Chhatra Kalyan Scholarship, and Karmayogi Scheme. Let’s understand what these scholarship schemes are:

Chhatra Kalyan Scholarship – Under this scholarship scheme, the university provides financial help to the students who are in need. The main objective of this scholarship is to assist deserving and needy students so that they can continue with their studies at the university. A financial assistance of INR 15k or semester fee, whichever is less is provided to students under this scholarship scheme.

Karmyogi Scheme – Under this scheme, the university makes student self-reliant by developing their skills. The university provides many part time jobs so that students can support themselves with expenses. Most jobs under this scheme are provided at the university campus itself.
