CSJMU Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Kanpur

The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University provides separate hostel facilities to boys and girls. There are multiple hostels present within the CSJMU (Kanpur University) campus with all the required facilities so that students get a homely feeling. The CSJMU hostels are situated in a green surroundings which makes the environment peaceful.

CSJMU (Kanpur University) has nearly 2 boys hostels named Shivaji and Swarn Jayanti. On the other hand, there are about 4 girls’ hostels namely Ganga, Triveni, Saraswati, and Kaveri. CSJMU hostels have the accommodation capacity of over 1100+ students. In the CSJMU hostels, rooms are available on the basis of double and triple occupancies.

The fees for the CSJMU hostels are inclusive of room rent and health insurance. Moreover, the University charges mess fees separately which is Rs. 48,000/- yearly.

The University has set some rules and regulations for the residential students to follow in order to maintain a safe and productive learning environment; below-mentioned are the details of the same:

• Students are not allowed to use any electrical appliances like electric stove / heaters / iron / refrigerator, etc. in or outside the rooms. If any such thing is found, the item will be confiscated and students might have to pay a fine; the authorities will also take a strict disciplinary action against such a case.
• Any sort of audio systems or usage of personal TV, VCR, VCD/ DVD is strictly prohibited for hostellers.
• Students are not allowed to leave the hostel premises beyond the prescribed timings by the Hostel Authorities. Exceptional cases can only be entertained if the students have written permission of the Warden.
• Activities such as smoking, consumption of alcohol or drugs, gambling, violence, using abusive languages are strictly not allowed when students are in the hostel premises.
• If there is any damage or loss of hostel property available in the common area of the hostels, residents will be held responsible and they will have to pay for the repair or recovery of that item.
• All hostel residents at CSJMU (Kanpur University) are expected to maintain decent behaviour and silence, and dress in a modest way.
• In the girls’ hostel, everyday at 9 PM, a roll call will be taken and all students have to be present at this time; no student is allowed to leave the hostel premises after the roll call.
• For vacations, breaks, or any other kinds of leaves, students have to sign in the appropriate home leave register. If any student is found leaving the hostel without signing the register, a strict action will be taken against the same.

The hostels at CSJMU Kanpur Campus make the students feel homely by maintaining such an environment. The rooms have all the basic furniture such as beds, tables, chairs, and storage spaces and have attached washrooms. To ensure that students have access to regular and nutritious meals, the CSJMU Kanpur University provides a mess facility. It offers 4 meals a day including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner.

The hostels also include other facilities like 24x7 Wi-Fi connectivity, CCTV cameras at entrance for security, electricity and water supply, housekeeping for rooms & bathrooms, etc. For entertainment purposes, there are common rooms, newspapers and magazines available in the reading rooms, and a Badminton court present in the hostel premises.

In case of any medical emergency, an ambulance is present round the clock at the hostels. Health Centre and doctors are also available for the primary medication of the residents.
