Gujarat University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Ahmedabad

The hostels at Gujarat University are offered to both the boys and girls students separately. The University has constructed multiple hostels with all the required amenities to maintain a home like environment for the students. CCTV cameras are installed and 24x7 on-duty security guards are there at Gujarat University hostels to ensure students’ safety & protection.

The Gujarat University has different blocks for each hostel. There are nearly 6 boys’ hostels called A, B, C, D, E, and F blocks whereas for girls, there are 2 hostels namely A & B blocks. The overall accommodation capacity of all the hostels is more than 740 students in total. Out of the total capacity, about 550 students can be accommodated in boys’ hostels whereas, in around 196 students can be accommodated in girls’ hostels. The rooms of Gujarat University hostels are available in single and twin-sharing occupancies.

GU Ahmedabad has laid down some rules for hostellers to maintain complete discipline at the hostels and create a safe environment for stay; below-given are some of the rules that Gujarat University hostellers need to follow:

• Ragging is strictly banned on campus. If any students are found guilty, the authorities will take strict actions.
• Consuming alcohol or taking drugs inside the hostel premises is strictly not allowed for the hostellers.
• Girls are not permitted to enter boys’ hostels between 11 PM to 6 AM. Boys students can only enter the girls’ hostels with due permission.
• Without the permission of the Warden, hostellers cannot organise any function or celebration in the hostel premises.
• If any of the GU Ahmedabad hostel residents engage in physical fights or use abusive / threatening language, they will be punished.
• Gujarat University hostel residents are not allowed to play music or record players inside their rooms. If any such thing happens, they will be punished. It may also lead to expulsion from the hostel/ University.
• Students are expected to handle hostel / mess property or furniture carefully. In case of any damage, a fine will be imposed by the hostel management against such students.
• All girls students should be back to the hostel by 10 PM. If any of the girl residents want to stay out of the hostel at night, she has to take permission from the hostel authorities.

At the Gujarat University Campus, hostels are allocated to students of Ph.D, M.Phil, PG, and K.S. School of Business Management. Also, students who reside at a location that is beyond the distance of 40 kilometers or more from the campus, can also join the University hostels.

GU Ahmedabad hostels are located within a walking distance from the campus. There are single-seater and double-seater rooms with tables, chairs, cupboards, and beds for each student available in the hostels. In addition to this, the mess is there for the students to have nutritious & tasty meals on a daily basis.

The hostellers are provided with amenities such as 24/7 power supply, round-the-clock security, water cooler & water purifier, etc. Gujarat University hostel residents can also access the library and the computer labs for academic purposes.
