This undergraduate program effectively prepares the aspirants for a dazzling career in architecture. Armed with a B. Arch degree, the candidate can land an entry-level job in an architectural or design firm.
The students receive training on how to solve real-life design issues via workshops, seminars, classes, and studio visits. They gain a thorough understanding of architectural and design concepts, especially in areas including aesthetics, acoustics, heritage conservation, sustainable architecture, urban renewal and design, and energy efficient design.
Budding professionals, after gaining extensive work experience, can establish their own setup or start a consultancy. An aspirant for the B. Arch program has to clear Std. XII final exams, having achieved at least 50% marks in aggregate in the science stream. Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics should be compulsory subjects.
The candidate also needs to attain the prescribed cut-off marks in the JEE (Mains) Paper 2 or the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) test. Students holding a diploma approved by state-level boards of technical education can apply as well.
Bachelor of Design: The Bachelor of Design or B. Des course is again an undergraduate program with a four-year academic schedule. Any student interested to apply to this course can choose to specialize in a stream of his or her choice. The different design streams include communication design, environmental design, transdisciplinary design, interior space design, interaction design, and product design.
Students, irrespective of their specialization, have to complete foundation and advanced core subjects in four years. Some of these subjects include ethnography, elements of design, internship, visualization & representation, design theory and methods, and context mapping.
The total intake capacity for the program is 200 seats. Every aspiring candidate has to secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in the 10+2/intermediate exam in order to apply. Various openings are also available in the fields of product design, environment design, and so on.
Master of Design: Anant National University enrolls students for two specific postgraduate design courses of 2-year duration; Master of Urban Design (MUD) and Master of Integrated Product Design (MIPD). ANU has tied up with Pennsylvania University for offering the M. Des-IPD course comprising subjects relating to design, engineering and management disciplines.
Students pick up the basics of ideating, designing, and developing products from scratch alongside mastering professional development and business planning skills. This master degree program equips students with the knowledge and skill set required to serve as a product engineer, design researcher, designer, and design entrepreneurs.
