Students interested in being a part of IAR can apply here for admission via the online admission process. To apply online, the student needs to visit the official website of the institute and fill out the online application form. IAR follows certain admissions eligibility criteria before short-listing the candidates for admissions. The candidate can only apply to the UG (except B.Tech) and PG courses of this institute if they have scored a minimum of 60% in their previous examination. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWE, OBC, and Minority sections need to score at least 55% marks. For the B.Tech course, the candidate needs to score a minimum of 45% marks (5% relaxation is given to SEBC, SC, and ST category students). Also, students can get admission to B.Tech by applying via Management Quota.

To make the students industry-ready and to provide multiple professional opportunities, the institute has established a focused and active Placement Cell. As per IAR Gandhinagar, this cell provides the students with an industry-oriented curriculum to ensure the students are being trained as per the requirements of the recruiting companies. This cell believes that interaction is the key and therefore, it organises various seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, and workshops for the students. These sessions guide the students toward the right career path and also give them an experience of how the corporate industry works. This cell monitors the growth of the students and also provides excellent internship opportunities to the students. To prepare the students for the on-campus placement drives and placement interviews, the cell organises pre-placement talks that include mock interviews, problem-solving sessions, live projects, GDs, aptitude tests, resume-building exercises, etc. This builds up the confidence of the students and guides them till they are placed.
The institute also has an IAR Startup and Entrepreneurship Cell (ISEC). This cell motivates and guides the students to have their own businesses and helps the students accelerate their innovative and creative ideas. Various Government policies are also promoted by this cell so that the students can get maximum benefit.
