University of Kashmir (formerly known as Kashmir University) [KU], Srinagar established in 1969 is a State University, currently having 69th position in NIRF Ranking 2024 and 451-500 score out of 760 in QS Asia 2023. KU Srinagar is approved by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC-A+. Admission in University of Kashmir is offered in Engineering, Management and Humanities at UG/ PG/ Diploma/ Certificate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
University of Kashmir was established in 1969. It was formerly known as the University of Jammu and Kashmir which was established in 1948. Later, in 1969, it was segmented into two universities which are now known as University of Kashmir and University of Jammu. It is committed to enhance the scientific, educational, cultural, and business environment. The university aims to impart high quality education, promotes excellence in research and facilitates academic freedom, harmony, and diversity. It is a State University approved by UGC and accredited by NAAC with “A+” grade.

KU Srinagar has a Centre for Career Planning and Counseling which assists and guides the students with placement opportunities. The University is located at Hazratbal in Srinagar which is surrounded by Nigeen Lake on western side and Dal Lake on the eastern side. The main campus is spread over 247 acres and is divided in 3 parts which are Naseem Bagh Campus, Mirza Bagh Campus, and Hazratbal Campus.
